I was speaking with a clubmate today on today's ride. She had been having all types of "problems" with her drivetrain, not shifting right, skipping etc.
She took it to the LBS. Turns out she had not changed her chain in over 3.5 years!! And this person rides about 5K miles/year. She was complaining that they had to not only change the chain but the cassette and chainrings and RD pulleys. I told her chains are cheap, and to use a ruler to measure and change them when they get beyond say 0.75% and/or at LEAST yearly.
She said only "a few" of her cogs/chainring teeth were really shark-finned. I advised that any is too many. I hope she gets it now.

So you're missing out on the last day?
I mentioned the AC seatpost because that's the one several people have had trouble with,, including myself. On those things, it's the adjusting bolt that breaks leaving the saddle dangling unrideable. Mine broke on the top of a small mountain pass while on a solo ride. I found a ball bearing and forced it into the post to hold the saddle on enough to descend into town to find a bolt.

I still haven't ridden since the surgery. I'm blaming my tiredness on that 3AM pill, the last one of which is tonight. I also blame the September ultra humidity, knowing full well I'm just gonna have to dive into it one of these days. Tomorrow is a Merida day, so maybe Tuesday

I have both, plus a lot of others. I like the Thomson for the adjustability and the solidity, but the way they make a setback post is just ugly. The AC on the Battaglin has gone at least 8000 miles without breaking. It did become loose once, so now I remember to check it.
EDIT: Because I have short femurs for the length of my legs, I tend to run my saddles pretty far forward, so zero setback posts work well for me in many cases.

I was riding on Mulholland Hwy with a different friend when his broke and he fell right on a massive hematoma he had sustained a week earlier when a dog ran into him in a paceline and he flew through the air and landed on his hip. As he was writhing on the road a sympathetic motorist came by and shouted at him to "get the f out of the road". Then he had to finish the climb and ride to a friends house to borrow a seatpost with the saddle in his pocket.

Today was on of those weird mornings where the temperature was cold but warm. Wore my new gilet and arm warmers, and at one point wish I had gloves. Soon after I wanted gloves, I didn’t want gloves or arm warmers.
tried out my mini pump last night. I’m due a flat any day now and realized I have no idea how this pump works.
50,000 pumps later I managed to get the tire to ride able “like” conditions. All I could think about was, I hope I never need it.
Somehow all of my Co2 cartridges are gone. I had at least three, that I never used.

Beta blockers are a poor choice for aerobic athletes, as they substantially reduce aerobic fitness and exercise tolerance.
There are alternative drugs that are more appropriate for athletes. If my cardiologist prescribed beta blockers, I would run (not walk) to get a second opinion from a sports cardiologist.
Here's a good summary article on treating hypertension in athletes.

This. Plus they are first-line for various types of cardiomyopathy. They certainly can help with many heart problems, but agree they are to be avoided in an athlete who only needs blood pressure control.

Too bad Velo Vol is still on hiatus. I could talk band with him, as my daughter is now bandleader for her school's band. Of course, these are 4th and 5th graders, so they have lots of enthusiasm but lack experience. We will be going to their fall concert and I do plan to have foam earplugs in my pocket, just in case....
