Somebody was asking about these in the mechanics thread. Yikes.

I think (
) someone wondered if this would deliver more power to the rear wheel. The answer is obviously no. It'll just make you slower for reasons that are obvious to a lot of us.
That's why I posted it in the thread.

It's a good time for me to drop this PSA considering the heightened curation of SS/FG at the moment:
I know those pictured are not the OP's bikes BUT for the continued well-being of this very thread, please DO NOT post other member's bikes!
What happened last time, a 1+-year hiatus, would happen again and I don't know how long and what it'd take for me and other SS/FG mods to swing the generosity of upper brass toward this thread again.

OK, this time around, there are going to be some expectations and standards.
1) Keep it fun
2) Do NOT be unnecessarily harsh in your criticisms, that's not edgy or cool, it's being a jerk.
3) Keep it in the guidelines
4) DO NOT POST OTHER MEMBER'S BIKES. WE ARE SERIOUS ABOUT THIS.
If anytime after the fact we learn that a bike posted is owned by a fellow forum member, there will be consequences. There is ZERO tolerance.
If these standards can't be met, I'll close this topic down for a while and let y'all think about it.
Meantime, here's something weird to start it off.

It just reminded me of what happened the last time, it was starkly similar.
The last time this thread was locked somebody posted another member's bike from another subforum here thinking that mods/ OP would not be able to connect 1 and 1 together despite it being in the 1st post by Tom.
I only edited Tom's post upon the unlocking of this thread to bold it; the rule was always there. Said bike had a longer than usual steerer tube in addition to a steerer tube extender and a easily identifiable custom paint scheme.
What happened was, this thread is one of the more popular threads on the forum as a whole and frequently visited/ lurked by non-SS/FG regulars. One of whom, as you can imagine spotted said bike that was originally posted by one of their forum friends and notified said friend about their bike's new-found stardom here and reported said post containing it.
The friend who saw his bike featured here was totally okay with the fact and actually replied in the same thread that he was totally fine with it being here. However, an admin saw the report for the post and came down on the thread as this was not the first time another member's bike was posted here despite what the owner of the bike felt.

What if this is inadvertently done? Say we find a picture on the internet and have no idea that it is someones bike here. I have posted pictures of all of my bikes on other forums and at one time, actually expected one of them to show up here.
