I went out for two rides over the long weekend on the 1952 Claud Butler Olympic Sprint. Haven't regularly ridden fixed in a few years so it's fun, but the 48/14 gearing is pretty tough whenever a headwind blows by!

29 miles today with the Terraliner. A loop circuit around north Surrey, not so far from the metropolis of London, U.K. Mixed road & path with a 13th-century church en route.

On Sunday a bunch of us did our usual autumn Cape Cod Rail Trail ride. 45 miles round trip. 10 people at the start (on 9 bikes), and another rider joined us at Orleans. Th classicest and vintagest bike was Frog's 1917 Columbia built up with modern components. It was awesome.

That's a is tough FX/SS gearing setup for long rides. I'm down 38/18 SS with both brakes and cushy but stiff wheelset tires on mine with only 21lbs curb weight and find some places I ride tough.

Like Wildwood , glad to be posting to this thread again. Tuesday, actually, but an excellent ride. I needed to be in Allentown for a meeting so I tucked the Nishiki International in the car too. Proceeded to the Ironton Rail trail and found a place to have my picnic lunch. I sat in the warm sun and was glad for another day above ground. Glad for another day that I don't need an e-bike and glad that our atmosphere scatters the blue end of the spectrum of our star's light which makes our sky that lovely shade of blue that we've become so fond of. Due to a Doctorective to stay off the bike for two weeks then Dr. Ian (TD, BFS) bringing 5 days of rain to the mid-Atlantic I've gotten fat and lazy and this was only my second ride of late. So here is a pretty pedestrian photo of the picnic spot. A great day.

A couple nice easy local rides the past couple days on the MT-200 cushy ride bike. The leaves a nearly all off the Aspens so expect grey and white snow pics in the near future.

40 on the C40 today. I had a nice long tailwind on the flatter part of the ride. Very nice. I did a little exercise to keep the mind occupied while riding today. Most all of my rides involve at least a couple of double digit gradient climbs, usually 12-16%, so today I thought I’d keep track and see how many there actually were using a criteria of 10% or more for 10 seconds or more of riding. There were 9 - kinda wish I didn’t know that. At any rate only 2 or 3 longer than about 100m. Puts hair on your chest as my Dad used to say.
