4945 Real World miles for the year. I only need a 55 mile ride to make 5000.and I've tot 3 days to do it in, counting today. Unfortunately....
Despite what it seems to indicate, it is actually raining now. I suppose I could ride in the rain, but really, I'm too old for that ****.

Before dinner, my 96-year-old grandmother fell in the bathroom. Managed to not break anything, but had a cut on her chin and a banged knee. Crisis averted. We thought. During dinner she started shaking and lost her color, and couldn't get up from the chair even with considerable help. Ambulance came and she's back at the hospital. No news.
Last summer when I visited my uncle died. I'm getting a complex about coming back. And making dark jokes like that because I'm wound up into anxious knots.

So here's where things stand for 2022, after yesterday's ride:
The most obvious goal would be cracking 5000 on the road, but that's highly unlikely. 1600 Virtual is almost too easy - that's just 2 x 1hr Zwift sessions. 6400 Total? That means 81 virtual miles, or 4 hours+ on the trainer. Hmmm...
Alternatively, forget trying to hit goals in the last 3 days of the year, and just figure on getting some exercise and relaxation. Maybe take Rango for a walk, he doesn't seem to mind the rain. And he's got a raincoat.

It would certainly be easier to let them do everything. Just a little more costly. But you need to start building up your credit for next year's Christmas present

I shan't be done for the year till Saturday night. I'll probably do at least 2 more Zwift sessions - I gave all that holiday eating to burn off!

I just Zwifted for 12 miles (Lady Liberty in NY). I don’t know why I keep changing the planned route. I did that stupid 16% grade climb twice. My quads are cashed. Skiing tomorrow should be interesting.
In other news, our luggage is still missing and my wife’s car, in for brakes and an oil change, will have to be in the shop overnight. We have a loaner, but still. 2022 can’t end soon enough.

62° today and the roads are seriously wet from snow melt. Still, had to ride. Got my trike out, pumped the tires, installed the front fenders and charged the Di2 since it hadn’t been ridden in a few months. Only got 21 miles but it was glorious to get out without freezing my testicles off or numbing them from sitting on the trainer.

Thanks all.
Back in Albany. Grandmombug's right kneecap is cracked. Not displaced, so she's "just" non-weight-bearing for 4-6 weeks and they're trying to find her a rehab place. And AG said she didn't recognize her. So the stew of emotions is still all there.
And yesterday MORNING my back had gone out (I think the bed there doesn't work for me anymore) and that didn't even make the news, so to speak. Working on loosening it up now for tomorrow. Just want to get back home at this point and try to recenter for next week.
Also, the SWSNAFU has meant we got no upgrade for the flight home because people desperate to get home bought all the first class tickets. Small potatoes compared to my grandmother? Yes of course, but this week can't end soon enough.
I did not read all the posts. Did I miss anything important?
