Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Can't you even just put an 11-34 on that free hub?

2nd no birthdays are good past 21 years old.
3rd. Counting is overated, so is thinking for that matter. .5 the time it leads to bad ideas. It's not worth the gamble.

That HUB looked like 6600. I tried it on a 6700. It did not fit. Hub was not deep enough.

I have an 11-32 cassette on a 6600 Ultegra 10s hub. I see no reason why a 34 wouldn't work. It also has a long cage derailleur.

Found this: "No. Shimano 10-speed hubs, including the 6600, cannot be converted to 11-speed. 11-speed freehubs (not a freewheel) are wider to accommodate the width of the 11-speed cassettes, therefore an 11-speed hub body has to be correspondingly narrower so the whole package will fit in the width of the dropouts.

Existing 11-speed wheels are backwards compatible with 8/9/10 speeds using the appropriate spacers.

If you want to run 11-speed components on your bike, you'll need a different rear wheel."

The ravages of time suck but the birthday itself can be a great day. I had good birthdays for my 40th, 50th, and 60th. I hope someone thinks up something good for my 70th which will be in about 1.5 years, and I hope to participate.

I haven't touched tequila or any of its derivatives since Cinco de Mayo 1976. I was quite sick. In fact, I am not quite a teetotaler, but almost. Alcohol just doesn't do anything for me anymore, aside from the flavor of a good craft beer.

Travel day today, we are packing up and saying goodbye to Charlottesville. It was a very good visit. Back to Pennsylvania and back to work on Monday.

Drizzled overnight and there is a chance of sprinkles. I want to drive to the club start but I don't know if anyone will be there. We'll see.

I have a lot of different rear wheels, but I doubt a 6sp freehub can take an 11sp cassette...
