Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Obviously, you weren't bad enough. If you were, she'd be driving you to get it.

Then sounds awesome, but he wouldn't build for me anyway. But the goal is to be in Boulder and running and only mild cycling in between anyway.

Have since added the Kickr desk.
Waaaay back in the day there was a post on ST where a couple had two Vasas, two KICKRs, and two treadmills. And a 65" TV they all faced, back when that was more impressive.

The Headwind is dumb; you want all the fan you can get, all the time. And they can be cheap Target fans.

I haven't found this to be true. However, part of it is probably because my rig is in a non-temp-controlled detached garage. If I'm doing an easy (zone 2) spin, and the temps are low (for me), I will probably have my fan on low. That said, I also use dumb fans.

Right, that's different. That should have been caveated for indoors, or hot. Here in Texas I always want fans on full, but wouldn't if I were in a garage in the winter. Just haven't done that in years.

"Peasant" is exactly what I think of that setup.

Of course my goal is a $2k Pilates machine, $5k treadmill, and TV the size of the wall. Perfect use case for something like an 85X91J, though not for a while.

Being in So Cal, my garage isn't exactly an ice box, but it still gets cold enough for my delicate level of tolerance to sometimes start my session with a hoodie on.

I need to get a pic of my IM/Tri friend’s garage. It includes a smart trainer, treadmill, big screen TV, plus….

a heated endless pool.

It’s literally a triathlete’s wet dream setup.

My garage has been in the high 50s/low 60s every evening when I've ridden, the last week or so. I normally blow both the fans you can see in my pic at full blast plus stripping off my jersey, but the last week each night the most I had is the one on the floor on low and the one on the chair on 2. And the jersey stays on. And at that, when I'm done my belly skin is cold, like when you ride on a cold day with barely enough on.

A good ride is the best cure for insomnia.

We're all wired different. Even when it's hot, the one fan I use is enough for me.
