Riding safely is table stakes to me: hold your line, don't blow through stop signs, protect your front wheel, ride smoothly, don't annoy cars unnecessarily.
Beyond that, the single most important group ride rule is to agree on a pace and drop policy beforehand and stick to it. 90% of problems are eliminated if you do that.

I only went on this ride once, but I think the regroups frustrated some of the faster riders because we would shoot off like bats out of hell after regrouping and it was easy to lose connection with the pack if you’re just trying to follow the wheel in front of you. Was not very disciplined, but it’s hard with 30-40+ riders of varying strength. “No drop” ride problems I guess.
1. What is the most important rule of group riding?
2. This group ride requires vaccination and I haven't had my booster, but someone needs to stand up for what's right.
3. No drop rides are a problem.
Put down the pipe and focus ...

veganbikes I’m always nice and respectful, people who recognized me/knew me were asking how I’ve been etc because I’ve been MIA from group rides for a while. idk what you’re implying. I wave at everyone lol

The important thing for any group ride is to know how to ride in a group and if incapable of that don't join. It can break down into a lot of things like having a decently maintained bike that won't cause issues for other riders to knowing how to keep on someone's wheel without causing issues or not keeping on their wheel to not cause issues. If you are new to a ride and it is not a beginners ride regardless of what you may think you are, maybe avoid it or stay to the back and be super respectful and if they ask you maybe not to join them I wouldn't.
Basically you want to act on a ride as if you are with other people and know how to interact with others and be in a public setting. If you cannot respect others around you then don't go on rides with others around you.
If the ride has rules, follow their rules or don't go on their ride. Plenty of fun rides can be done solo or if you are lucky enough to have friends then go with them.

That's what makes the ride a "no drop" ride. Losing the front group is no big deal.

Know the type of group you're joining, and whether it's a good fit for you. If you struggle to maintain 20mph on flat ground, and have little-to-zero pack riding experience, joining the local racer-boy group ride is not going to go well, and could be dangerous for everyone. If your intent is to hammer at race pace, and attack the group, this is not going to be welcomed behavior for a slower-paced, no-drop, casual/coffee ride.

From today's group ride:
Nobody should ever get left behind because of a flat tire. New rider to our group had 2 flats! Of course we waited.
#2-No need to apologize. Every one of us has been dropped and had the group wait for us. Or, as above a flat. You'd do the same for us.

The first rule on the rules and etiquette page is this: Note: All riders must be fully vaccinated and boosted for COVID-19.
I emailed the president and board of directors saying that I joined the B ride last time and had a great time, but asked to clarification on if I was breaking any rules by riding without getting my booster, and asked if they recommend that I avoid Alto Velo rides unless I get my booster. President is the B ride leader, and my full name is in the email, so they should be able to extrapolate who I am (got a few cheeky comments saying they didn't recognize me with all the clothes on.) Someone needs to stand up for what is right, you feel me?

Say Mr. Sellerz, it's not too cool to malign this organization on this forum because you you have a personal issue with vaccines. As several here have already stated, If you don't like their rules just don't ride with them, I'm confident they'll struggle along without you.
