I've got that beat, tempo is 127-133, LTHR is 154. I've seen over 170 once after a 1 minute effort followed by a sprint (that I won) at the end of a race. Resting hr is 38-40

All this talk of CTL made me look at mine for the first time in kind of a while. It's been hanging out in the mid-upper 70's, slowly but steadily declining as I've been racing and placing in cyclocross races. Hell if I know what that means. I spent the first half of the year in the 40's to low 50's, though, and only really start to ramp it up in late May. I guess we'll find out next year what an extended period of building CTL before the season starts actually does for me.

and I'm the exact opposite. I build a ctl of 90ish over the winter, and then spent most of the racing season with a positive TSB and eventually cratered my CTl around60.

outside of pros doing routine 25-30+ hour weeks, I feel similarly and think it's true for most people.

I felt bad on the bike this morning. It was hard to tell at first, but I pulled the plug halfway through a modest, low z5 4' effort because it didn't feel good.
Looks like week3 base1 is turning into an impromptu rest week. Hopefully I can fully recover by the beginning of next week.

One days everyone's resting heart rate will be zero.

The irony of my cycling these days is that I ride my bike to work, and drive to train on my bike.
Its just more efficient (and safer now that its dark sooner) to drive to the industrial park where I do flat intervals.

That's a biggee for me. I try to not reach the point of hating my bike and taking some time off here and there helps. Also, it's nice to spend time with the Mrs while she still tolerates me.

everyone on my team/floor is at an offsite so I enjoyed hooking off in the middle of the day to go for 1h40 recovery ride. rode my spare bike which my brother has been borrowing - he got in a bad crash with it last weekend which landed him in the hospital but I've just verified the bike came away untouched minus some blood which was easily washed off. he wants to get back in the saddle this weekend after the stitches come out so I wanted to be sure there wasn't any lurking problems.

38.5 miles, was all fun until I flew off the bike and jammed my left shoulder and hit my right knee. The knee actually felt better after getting back on the bike and not letting things lock up, but the shoulder is on ice. I don't currently think it's something requiring medical intervention, but we'll see, and hopefully be well enough to race Monday

I wish I had your guys physiology. Once racing season starts I just can't recover enough, and slowly loose power and high end as season progresses. Same thing during training, but not quite as bad.
