Busy day as usual while I am home. Wife had a doctors appointment, I had to go grocery shopping, wife wanted the bushes gone from our house so I destroyed bushes. Picked up the madone, and worked on the other madone. Exhausted.

So the bar width saga continues. I had posted on the past that the bars on the madone seemed larger than the bars on my other bikes. I measured the width, of all my bars and they are all the same. I know my other bars are all 42. Well, while working on the madone 2.0 this afternoon, I noticed that the bars say 44 cm on the front, it was hidden behind the cable, so I never noticed it.
How is possible that all of my bars measure the same width across the top then? Or am I measuring in the wrong spot?

Another high speed pursuit just ended. This one featured a stolen Sheriff dep't cruiser with speeds over 120 mph. The female suspect drove into a rental yard and finally got blocked in. The officer who blocked the front forgot to put his car in park and it rolled away with him chasing it trying to get in.
6 days ago a similar thing happened when a Highway Patrol cruiser was stolen. It's happened before. I don't understand why they don't take the key or fob when they leave the car.

So maybe they don't all measure them the same. Some measure center-to-center, some measure outside-to-outside. Also, some measure at the lever mounting area, and some at the end of the drops. So, I'd go by actual measurement.

Still weird the 44 feels bigger but I measured from the top outside to outside.
Oh another question.
So I had a 9 spd cassette on the super teams. I had a spacer behind the cassette. I pulled the 10 spd cassette off the bontrager wheels to put on the super team wheels. I noticed it had a spacer but it was smaller than the spacer behind the 9 spd cassette. This made sense in my mind, the 10 speed is larger so smaller spacer.
Well when I mounted the wheel, it shifted like garbage, while before it was on the bontrager wheels it shifted fine. So I pulled the cassette off and put the 9 spd spacer behind the 10 spd cassette and mounted the wheel. Now it shifted better but not perfect. I adjusted the rear derailer and now it shifts almost perfectly, one cog acts weird 30 percent of the time.
Thoughts on the spacer delima?

Or just not thinking. One I saw several months ago happened when the guy being chased got his car stuck or disabled and took off on foot. The officer got out and started chasing him through the desert and the suspect circled around and hopped into the police car and took off. Of course he eventually crashed the police car.
This one today was at a traffic stop and the woman somehow snuck up while the officer was not looking? At least she didn't destroy the car.

If those problems aren't evident, theoretically you should be able to adjust the RD to shift reasonably well with either spacing, especially if in big ring up front. But you'd need to adjust both limit screws and usually the cable tension also everytime you switch spacers, or other wheel with slightly different spacing.
