I worked near a large medical center in the 70s. We serviced vehicles for a lot of medical people. One cardiologist who was a regular customer purchased a beater Honda Civic to tow behind his motorhome. It started losing power and would barely pull it's own weight. It was at our shop for a long time and one of the guys would work on it when he had time.
One day the doctor stopped in to see if we got anywhere with it. He said something like "I don't really care if I can drive it, it's more the prestige of owning it that's important to me." We all cracked up.

Even my Taycan had 305s in the rear. There is just something about the rear end of a Porsche car that has a hold of my heart.

Our Macan has pretty big tires as well - 295/35/21 and 265/40/21.

When the supercharged Vettes came out they had rear tires over 13 inches wide. Customers were advised no drive through car washes because the tires wouldn't fit in the guides.

I was pretty lousy at everything to do with basketball. As a kid, I played ice hockey. I was a solidly mediocre goalie, with moments of brilliance, and moments of utter disaster.

A friend took his wife's car to the muffler shop last week for new exhaust because it got suddenly loud and he figured that a hole had opened up in the system.

Muffler shop called and the guy said that someone must have been cutting his catalytic converter off and got interrupted and had only cut halfway through on one end. Crap.

So, I'm wandering around Costco and I see they have Beats noise cancelling headphones and I thought theyd be handy mowing the lawn and such. So. I turn them on and open my iPad and a notice pops up. Your Apple Beats have been connected. Probably took a millisecond. I forgot about Beats being owned by Apple and that integration would be immediate.

I see what seems to be an inordinately high number of MD plates in Philly. I agree. You know there is a problem when the state’s driving slogan is “Drive Gently.”

I was pretty awful at every ball sport I tried -- and just a middling runner.

I was in my 40s when I picked up cycling to finally discover something I was not horrible at.

I've always had a troubled relationship with running, even when I worked at it. As a So Cal kid, I played odd-ball sports. Club ice hockey, and HS badminton (which I was pretty decent at). I started riding MTBs regularly in my early-20s (1990), found my way to road racing in '98, and figured out how to be decent at it (for a Cat 3 sprint-monkey) in '02. The pinnacle of my athleticism was '02-04. I hung it up at 35.
