I woke up this morning at about 7, and I felt pretty much normal. By 8 AM, I was feeling decidedly unwell. My muscles, especially my quads, were really sore, and it felt like my GI tract was on the verge of rebelling. I checked my temp, which was 98.6. But I still felt like I had a fever. Then started to get chills, REALLY BAD chills, like shaking like crazy and unable to get warm. Then Mrs GJ checked my temp again, and it was 99.6. I took a COVID test and it was negative, so lord only knows what this is.
I wanted to take something for the fever, but it just felt like if I did, it would come right back up, although interestingly (or not) I never got past feeling vaguely nauseated. I dd spend about half an hour on the toilet, all wrapped up in anything I could cver myself in, but nothing happened. I finally felt good enough or tired enough to lie down, so I missed all the excitement in Manhattan. Finally after getting maybe an hour of sleep, I feel a bit more human. Human enough, in any case, to take some Tylenol.
Still no idea what this is, but last week, The Older Boy called in sick one day, saying he could barely move, which is what this feels like. I guess even in a global pandemic, people get sick with other stuff. No rides for me this week.

Insta travelogues were becoming pretty big by 2019, so I'd look there.

At this point it's not even tempting. My quads feel like I just did Alpe du Zwift three times in a row.

Now that I no longer feel like I can't eat anything, I am taking in some calories.

I went into the lbs in Merida to buy some tubes. I looked at some bikes while I was in there. There were a couple US$300 bikes with disc brakes. Quality?

Tuesday ride started in the low 40s but windy af. A route was chosen to lessen the chance of extended headwind fighting. This worked out for the most part but when we stopped for coffee the lady of the ride said we should sit inside, so naturally we obeyed. It sure was nice and warm in there but then we had to go back outside.
A little climb helped warm us back up and despite the wind it was a good day.
