Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

The specialized I think it was the original Prevail, fit me well and seemed to cradle my head on all sides. I tried Giros once, but they felt too 'wide' and almost round inside. The Specialized and Lazer seem more long and narrow? if that sounds right. I also think it vents better than the old Specialized, but I wear a Halo cap, so could be imagining it.

BTW if you want a super cheap Saturn-style homebrew, just combine 2:1 OMS : bar/chain oil. It works almost as well as the fancy lubes and you can make up a couple of quarts for cheap.

Cool. Yeah, it's been a while since I went on a spree of trying on helmets, but that jibes with my foggy memory of the experience, and I remember that Giro was among those that I'd tried. Thanks!

If you felt unwelcome, it's probably because you deprived Corry of its second R.

IMO, it needs to earn that second R. The place has seen better days. At least I hope so.

On today's extended commute I talked to a group from the local slow cycling club who were standing around a member who was face down on the pavement. The back of the peloton is a dangerous place!

Hey MoAlpha I just saw a 19 year old with some paresthesias for 1 month of his calf area. Nothing above the knee or below the ankle. He is a runner and lifter and training to do an ironman.

My partner saw him and of course ordered EMG/NCS and B12/Folate. Of course all normal and of course the diagnosis is a mild cutaneous neuropathy, likely related to his exercise regimen.

I lectured him to be very careful on the aerobars or better yet, not even use them.

Tell me about it. When I first started looking for places to retire, I naturally started looking near Gettysburg. Mrs. GJ, not wanting to be forced to live near MY family, discovered that her grandmother's place in Corry was up for sale, and spent a week fantasizing about buying it and renting it out till we retired. I gently pointed out to her that that whole area is depressed, so finding someone to rent the house might be tough, plus everything she hated about living in that area had become worse.

Nope. I was 15 when Zep came out and it blew our minds. So much of their music is part of me, but not that song. Here is one I like.

It's not that bad, you can start a new streak.

A couple week ago I forgot to play and that ended a streak. That'll learn me.
