Not that I didn't try..

The weather was so bad yesterday......Dan rode his stationary bike!

Today the weather is so bad....Dan's basement floor looks like the Mississippi delta and he can't get to the stationary bike.

So he worked on the newly painted bike frame with polishing compound. Looks good!!

OK, it's time for the CA, AZ, NV, CO, and UT riders to step up and amuse the wet ones already logged on.

Wednesday 11/11/09 Did a completely different ride today with my daughter. Our normal rides are on the MUPs and back roads away from the hub bub of Orlando. Today we wanted to look at Camelback hydration system so we put our brightest colors on turned on all of our Super Flash blinkey lights and headed downtown to Orange Cycle. On the way back we stopped at Gabriel's Sub shop for a stacked ham and cheese sandwich. Some real bad storm clouds were overhead but we didn't get a drop. 17+ miles today and it was a good ride.

17.04 (s)miles today
175.91 (s)miles this month
5842.71 (s)miles this year
7 ride days this month (Nov.)

I was off the bike Monday and Tuesday because of a bad cold. Somehow, riding in the rain all weekend didn't help my cold.

Felt better today, and it was drier, so I was back on the bike for my commute.

45 degrees or so, wet roads, no rain - nice day to ride a bike.

Did a cyclo cross practice today. 1.25 hrs that included 4 x 10 minute Zone 4 intervals. Weather was clear and really cool. I didn't break a sweat during the suffer sessions. It was nice to ride over dry dirt and grass, plus I will not have to clean the bike.

If it's Wednesday, it must be 50+ miles to Folsom Ca and back. Here we are on a switchback on the bike trail.

Nope. I rode to work Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday, but since I'm doing a 130 mile ride on Saturday with friends who are faster than me and who will hammer me into submission, I'm resting today and tomorrow.

Clear Blue Fall Morning

Did not ride at all this summer due to a broken fingers and hand and you don't ride a BikeE too far one-handed unless you like eating dirt or asphalt.

BUT today; clear blue sky's abound and this morning I got in 11 1/2 miles on Fort Fraser Trail before I faded out.

Well after three days of solid rain I went out and played 18 this am and then went to lbs to check out prices on possible new MTB and then I RODE my hardtail for about 18 miles on a mup. Better than noyjingh I suppose. MUP was wet and so my face got wet as well as I rode along through the wet puddles and leaves. Fenders? Who needs em

70 km around the Niagara Escarpment. It was a wndless, sunny, warm ride in shorts/jersey and fingerless gloves. At 50, I was one of the younger riders I saw today. I guess us older guys stop to appreciate and take advantage of the good weather.

Friday 11/13/09 Temp in the low 70s had a good ride on the Wekiva Seminole trail with my daughter 30.85 miles

Saturday 11/14/09 The daughter and I rode from Apopka to the south side of Lake Mineola. They were having a bike expo at Waterfront Park for the Horrible Hundred Ride. Many of the Bike manufactures and bike shops had booths set up for the event. The daughter took a test ride on a $6,500 Felt. WOW!!!!
I was having heart palpations over an Ice Trike (made in England) On the way home we stopped in Winter Garden at a great BBQ place called Harry and Larry's. Great BBQ brisket with beans and slaw. If you are ever in Winter Garden FL stop at Harry and Larry's.

Beautiful November day in the Heartland: Got up into the 60's. Took the new 'bent on it's first club ride today- 35 miles rolling-to-hilly on rural roads. Quite nice. (Plus rode 5 miles each way to and from the ride)

I went out to buy some new overshoes and pick up some boks fro the library. It felt strange riding without rain gear.

It was almost 50F when I started the club ride, with lots of sun and enough wind that flags in front yards were all standing straight out. The leaves are down, as is most of the corn; so not a lot in the windbreak dept. Eleven of us rode to a sub shop in a neighboring town. 68 miles total.

Three of us (BikeWNC, Ted and myself) went out today, an usually spring like November day, and rode a 44 mile loop in Western NC that had us on the Parkway for about 11 miles, then down through the Pigeon River valley around Cold Mountain and the communities of Cruso, Bethel and Sunburst. Really nice area for riding that includes a 2700' climb back to the Parkway. Total gain for this loop is about 3900'.

Ted and BikeWNC as we head out on the Parkway.

Clean air and excellent visibility this morning.

The leaves have changed and fallen, as can be seen in the bare trees along the Parkway.

BikeWNC cruising up the Parkway.

Ted following suit up the Parkway.

The three of us in a self portrait before heading down Hwy 276.

Cycling through the community of Bethel.

BikeWNC and Ted as we cruise along by the river.

Taking a break on the climb back to the Parkway.

Yeah, after I got the grass cut SWMBO and I rode to the grocery store for provisions. Nothing substantial to lock the bikes to when we got there, so we folded her MuP8 and my tikit and put them in the shopping cart.

Here are few more pics from my ride today with Neal and Ted. It was nice of Ted to take it easy on us 50+ riders. Ted is only 20yo.
