I've been riding the (T)REK rat rod MTB a lot lately, handles all surfaces very well with it's file tread Michelin semi - slicks.
Rode around the industrial area of the port, old warehouses and rusty rolling stock.

This is a completely rusty steel clad cafe on the beach.

Meanwhile on the other side of the Earth….

it warmed up to 43 degrees! Got in 15 miles just before sundown.

Still a little snow hanging around. Thankfully, they didn’t lay down salt.

Trying some new routes for these shorter rides. This frontage road along I-94 isn’t half bad.

Got home just as it was getting dark. We’ll only lose another 10 minutes before the days start getting longer (and the cold gets stronger - lol!)

Definitely not a vintage bike but I enjoyed a 33 mile ride on it Monday. It's a Specialized Roll 650b bike.

I heartily recommend the Challenge Strada Bianca 650b x 46 tires if you have a bike these will fit.

I also have them on my Austria Daimler Puch Vent Noir II in a 700cx36.

They are light , supple and quick rolling in my experience.
No flats on either to this point.
My vintage 1981 or 82 Vent Noir with the 700cx36 Challenge tires.

Is your Trek perhaps a aluminum frame Trek 7000 MTB from around 1990?

I had one that looked very similar with the seat tube / seat stay lugs. They were internally glued so I couldn't have it powered coated due to heat / glue concerns so I brush painted it myself a burnt orange.

Enjoyed seeing your pictures .

My 1990 Trek 7000 with brush on coppery burnt orange paint.

Oh, I just realized yours is a 1993 950 highlighted here.

Ha around here if there’s a hint of moisture in the air and temps below 35, they start paving the roads with salt and closing the schools!

Another One

These usually show up after stormy weather. What cracks me up is that oftentimes they are left there while the beach swallows them up to the radar and then the taxpayers bring out the hazmat teams and heavy equipment to bring them up in pieces and then the pieces sit there for months more🤔

On Saturday's ride with 6 other gents we encountered this cyclist and his companion.

Also at a coffee stop we saw this beautiful auto, a Lamborghini.

Thankful to post this thread

Doubled back for the pic. Not seeking builder ID & info.

XL. Needs a lock. Long top tube for aero position (or orangutan arms).

The Colorado River - ACTUALLY originates in Colorado!

edit: Dang, it sure is glare-y bright every day (almost) here on the western slope. We don't have that problem around Seattle!

It was a gorgeous fall day yesterday in Dallas, TX and I took advantage and enjoyed a 40 miler to downtown and around on my Austro Daimler Puch Vent Noir II.

Old Catholic church amidst the high rises.

Along the much used Katy Trail just before America Airlines Center where the Dallas Mavericks basketball team plays.

Not really glad to post today

At least it happened in the first block.
3rd rear flat in maybe a dozen rides covering only 200miles or so. Glass shard, goat head, and perhaps a bad tube. My bad luck = no more tubes. Headed back to Seattle soon, my luck has been better there.

The zero bike blues. Besides, I think Colorado Winter is on the way, and I didn’t bring skis.

Good call using the XC tires. Something thinner could have been destroyed.

Rode 47 miles up north. It was 48 degrees and sunny when I headed out. Halfway through the ride, a front came through an dropped the temp to 40. Froze my azz.

Passed through the Skokie Lagoons. No color in sight.

Shortcut through the Botanic Garden.

Said hi to the cacti in the greenhouse.

I checked out the new MUP that runs parallel to Clavey Road. It had the potential to be a key connector route to the North Shore bike path. Unfortunately, it ends about 1/4 mile before the trail forcing cyclists onto a nasty stretch of Clavey. Rats.

Speaking of the North Shore Trail…feel the power!

The North Shore has winterized picnic shelters that provide a heated oasis with bathrooms and water. Really helps for late season rides.

Stream winding through one of the many ravines.

The Michigan Shores Club - old school/old money. Wait-list deposit is $12500. If you get in, membership dues are $6500 per month. Membership “by invitation”

The lake has taken on its winter color of blue/black.

Slowly nibbling away at my 2023 mileage goal. Got out 4 times this week for a total of 90 miles. Not bad for December.

Cold and windy today in Fairplay CO so just a short ride on the back roads and a bit of the bike trail and back home though. Took the Nishiki SS which is actually a pretty good rider on snow and ice.

Cold and windy on the bike trail.

Really slow in town.

I enjoyed a 15 miler with my missus 2 days ago.

This looks like the woods but it's just a maybe 3/4ths of a mile trail along a creek I sometimes pass by in the Canyon Creek area of Richardson, a suburb adjacent to north Dallas.

It's very cool and calming to ride through that path.
I guess I should just go back and forth on it dozens of times to get that riding through the woods enjoyment.

I'm on my Gary Fisher Hoo Koo E Koo for this ride.
Love this bike...so smooth and comfortable.

Nice day for winter today clear and in the low 40's with no wind just a little cloudy. Took the SS for a short local ride.

We have had a stretch of nice autumn days so I have been trying to get out often.

I really like to ride my bike for many errands when I can and I did so yesterday.

Here's a quick pic I snapped beside a small lake/pond in north Dallas . The ducks and geese are also loving the great weather.

Today I chose my 1982 Trek 614 which is one sweet ride.

I try to rotate between my bikes. It's fun to hop on one I may not have ridden in a couple weeks and re-appreciate why I like that particular bike.

I do enjoy seeing the pictures from everyone posting on this thread.
