Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Hello all!

I am new to the site...
After years of MTB riding back to road bikes. Here's my 2003 Bianchi Campione - thus far I put about 430 Miles on it.
It's pretty much stock (Campagnolo Veloce/Mirage mix) except for the LOOK pedals (from the Bianchi Veloce) as well as a Fi'z:ik "Vitesse" seat:

I just spied the new OCR2 at my FBS today. Wow... they sure look nice. The store was about to close and I just ran in there to pick up a mirror so I didn't get a chance to test ride one or anything though. The problem with Giant's bikes is their sizing scheme. If it fits you then you're good to go but if you happen to be one of those that's in between sizes then it can be frustating. Make sure the bike fits.

Its pretty low, although there are lower lowracers available now. I'm thinking about going to a carbon fiber platform for next summer. Gotta shave a little weight off my ride. Need a larger volume tailbox also.

Heres my new(used) road bike about a '94 Softride Solo 700 with 16spd Shimano RX100 components, wellgo Spd pedals, and Softride Front Suspension handle bar system. Planed up grades include triple crank Ultegra or 105's and a new seat haven't decided on one yet am just begining to shop around I just can't see putting one of my Ergo Seats on this bike.

Here is a pic of the new Vigorelli. You can see a little bit of the pearl in the paint. Pictures still dont do Bianchi's justice, though.

Teski, that is a sweet ride. I've got the 2003 in postal colors. You will love it. Go ahead and remove the size sticker located on the frame under the seat. It will peel right off without leaving a mark. That will save you 1/100th of a gram, you will really feel the difference on the hills.

Then take good care of your new best friend!

Just got a Fuji Ultra-lite Touring 4, it's in very nice shape.Looks great for a 20 year old bike. Actually, I have paid for it, but they are going to put on wider bars and bar end shifters; so I don't have it in my hot, greasy mitts yet. This winter it's going on my trainer; but I had a thought today. This is not a bad bike; I could use this as a commuter. And then I could use my Carpe Diem (without panniers) for my weekend rides. I really like the idea.
Wonder how much it would cost to go 8 speed STI....

Just bought a '03 Look 381i

Full Campag Record, Speedplay X2s, SSM Aspide, USE Alien, Tacx Tao cages.

Having seen the frame in France when I was over there to see the tour, I couldn't resist! And since all my bikes have had Shimano, I thought I'd try a Record equipped bike... having done some of the mountains in the Pyranees, I bit the buillet and got a Triple, I like to spin.

My single road bike is a Specialized Epic carbon fiber frame with Ultegra components and downtube shifters.
Yeah, its old...but it still goes good.
I'll try to get a pic of it to post.
