Went to go look at this today, as it was only a couple of miles away. Turns out it has 24" steel wheels, broken shifter cables, and the top/down tubes are humped - it hit something head on hard enough to bend hi-ten tubing.

I offered $40 to the teenager that was selling it just be generous, but he turned me down.

Jim, He's right. It's an interesting discussion, but this ain't the place for it.

Men's Schwinn Traveller - $100 (belvidere)

https://rockford.craigslist.org/bik/1410521596.html

Love these bikes. One of my favorite models for value/quality. US built, I think. Bottom bracket is astoundingly beefy. Nice Sugino 5 arm crankset. I should probably pick it up to rebuild for sale, but its getting cold and there'll be others.

Bridgestone Tourer being hocked as a cross bike.

Bridgestone Cyclecross Bike-Large - $250 (near north)

If you are 6'2" this could be the bike for you! It's a touring bike with all the braze-ons. Could be used for cyclecross if you are tall. It has bar end shifters, nice Chinelle bar and stem and triple crank. All inquires to Mark (312) 446-6607.

Kinda want to pick it up for myself, and switch it out with the 58cm '90 Voyageur that is a bit short for me, but low on $.

Early 80s Motobecane Super Mirage - $125 (Platteville,WI)

Date: 2009-10-10, 8:34AM CDT
Reply to: sale-snysy-1414978700@craigslist.org [Errors when replying to ads?]

Here is an excellent commuting bike for someone 6' tall or taller. An early 80's Motobecane Super Mirage in very nice condition with new tires and tubes this summer. All works as it should. Think that this is a 25" model with a standover height in the neighborhood of 34". Wheels are straight and true. Shifts well. Decent bike at an excellent price that will serve you for many years to come.

Direct serious inquiries to Mark at: wsp166@yahoo.com

Thanks!!

Black 1981 Mercian 57 cm in NYC; overpriced at $975, but it's a nice bike, and worth a lowball offer. I'm local and could facilitate.

Motobecane Grand Jubilee 62 cm needs TLC but cheap; might be worth a drive-by. I'd snap it up if I could see it first (don't want to pay good money to ship and then find out it's beyond reclamation). Something seriously wrong with the front wheel -- either busted or 24"!

Paramount PDG probably built in Japan? I'm not a schwinn guru so I don't know. Nice looking bike.

Schwinn Paramount PDG Series.. 56cm 14 speed road bike - $325 (Costa Mesa)

Date: 2009-10-11, 9:55AM PDT
Reply to: sale-8t2me-1416495137@craigslist.org [Errors when replying to ads?]

This is a 1992 Schwinn Paramount PDG series 56cm. Made from butted Tange tubing with Tange fork. Investment cast BB and seat lug. Top tube has internal brake cable routing. This is a quality steel lugged frame.

Comes with Shimano 500 EX components. Dual pivot brakes, 700c quick release wheels. Shimano hubs, Araya rims. 14 speed indexed, (click) shifting. Hyperglide cassette is 13 - 23 teeth. Chain rings are 39 and 53 teeth. Italian made Vetta saddle.

New brake and shifter cables. New tires and bar tape. Pedals with clips and Paramount straps. Comes with 2 water bottle cages, (not pictured). This bike has been taken apart, cleaned, lubed, reassembled and tuned.

The bike rides exceptionally well. It is very lively and accelerates quickly. It is very light at 21.5 pounds. There is a ding on the top of the top tube that does not affect the integrity of the frame or ride quality in any way.

The stand over height is 31 1/2" and should fit someone about 5'6" to 6' tall. Take it for a ride and you won't be disappointed. Full specs are here. (see series 2) https://www.trfindley.com/flschwinn_1...92_Pmt_23.html
