Kudos on staying with your Legnano for 50+ years, that is quite a feat in this day and time. It still looks like to could be ridden and enjoyed regularly. Glad to have you aboard.

Wow.

Thank you very much for the vintage photo. That's exactly what events like L'Eroica are trying to capture. I was one year old when that shot was taken, and now I'm considered "senior".

Knowing that you are still out there, rockin' that Legnano, gives me optimism for my future on bicycles. Way to go!

1972 60cm Chrome Paramount

Here I am with my beloved '72 chrome Paramount P15. I replaced the Campy Record triple crankset with a Stronglight 99 triple, which fits a 28 tooth granny gear instead of the 36 tooth granny gear of the Campy crankset. I put on new 27" Sun M13 polished rims with DT double-butted stainless spokes instead of the old Weinman 27 x 1 1/4 box section rims with rusted chrome-plated spokes.

Nice paramount! Those rims look shiny even from this vantage point.

My one vintage rig worth showing. 1974 Fuji Ace, no longer wearing the full Dura Ace kit. Gentleman I bought it from said he had purchased it from Chris Chance who had had it as one of his and made the component changes. DA shifters and FD remain, Cyclone RD, Sugino cranks with drilled rings, Campy brakes and pedals, wheels are Mavic G40s on Record hubs. Took it down to the Hatch Shell in Boston for a concert.

Speaking of Bottecchia, here's an 88-ish Team Record I recently acquired. Frame is SLX and appears fully chromed under the paint, which has had a number of touchups over the years- not unusual for Italian fully chromed frames. Would have originally been sold with Campagnolo C-Record but when I got it there were Croce d'Aune delta brakes, FD and RD with a Chorus crankset and Chorus brakes, shifted with Triomphe friction shifters. Not a big fan of late 80's Campagnolo so that all went into the For Sale bin, and was replaced with Shimano Dura Ace 7700 brakes and derailleurs, Tektro R200 levers, a Deore based compact 50/34 crankset and Tricolor 7 speed indexed shifters (thanks, CO_Hoya!) working the Sachs 7 speed 12-28 freewheel on early 80's Record hubs laced to Ambrosio Excellence rims. Now it shifts perfectly up and down through the entire freewheel on both rings. Lovely:

Reissue Turbo saddle in red microfiber:

PO had this wheelset built just before selling the bike, including the nearly new 12-28 Sachs freewheel:

^^^ Oh Man, Oh Man! That is nice. I've always loved the red and white Bottecchias! Is this a keeper? I also like the gearing you chose.

Yes, this is supposed to be a keeper, expect that it will get as much rotation as the Merckx twins and the Cannondales...
