@tolesy, my recommendation is to try it as it is for a while. Then before changing the height of your bars, try bars that are swept back, such as North Road bars.

To be fair, when I put a stem riser on my wife's bike, I had to do the same thing for the same reason - replace all cables. But if he just replaces the stem with one with a steeper angle, or otherwise doesn't raise it too terribly much, the cables should be okay.

Picking up the bike this evening after work. LBS said they think they can go as high as a 24* without swapping cables. I'll report back later. Thanks for all the tips guys!

Updated the district a bit
Picked up a Trek 2nd district a couple months ago, hated the color so my painter buddy painted it for me 
ordered some new parts turned out pretty nice I think... Still will change the crankset and brakes to black in the future I think. Will see how it rides this weekend I hope. This will be my grocery bike so I will pick up a set of Ortleib pannier's soon

Yes. It is only about 76cm wide. I can get it through my front door at home, although it now lives in the garage.
This particular velomobile weighs approximately 34km and is not super aerodynamic. It is reasonably hard work getting it up to speed. I have to work my way up through the gears in the Rohloff hub. Once up to speed it maintains it well. It is fun to ride into a wind as it is not slowed as much in headwinds and crosswinds. It leans a bit during cornering but goes around them ok. I haven't lifted a wheel yet, but take a wider line going around corners at speed. I slow down for sharper corners.

Soma Double Cross
I have always been inspired by the builds shown in this sub-forum. Thanks to all who have shared. Here is the current rendition of my Soma Double Cross. Just recently upgraded to a handbuilt wheelset (H+ Son Archetype with Dura Ace 9000 hubs and Sapim spokes, by Velomine) for durability. My previous wheelset, American Classic Victory 30, was too worn out and aged, so a timely replacement. At the time the picture was taken, I was testing out a leather saddle (for a few long rides!), but decided it was not for me. Couldn't wait for the saddle to break-in against the painful butt. So I'm now back to the Selle SMP TRK. Another change (not considered an upgraded) is the Campagnolo FD, RD and ergopower shifter-brake levers, from the Dura Ace groupset. As this is the only bike I own, it is utilized for commuting (with backpack) and group riding on the roads over the weekends. And it was only yesterday did I test on a real gravel road. It was fun and such a blast, testifying to the bike's capability for cyclocross riding. Next upgrades would be a stiffer crankset (Rotor 3D30 on the way), and maybe a carbon fork in the not-so-near future. Cheers!

Finally got my commuter sorted to suit my needs. V comfy and pretty speedy too. Also fitted brighter Moon lights, SKS mudguards and rear GatorSkin tyre now the weathers getting more autumnal.
