Only around 2 miles this morning before it started getting hot outside. But it was my first ride in 10 years besides a simple trip around the block 2 days ago. My knees have to get used to it again.
It's amazing how much more of a workout biking is than walking, knees tired after less than a quarter mile, yet no trouble going for a 5 hour walk on a beach.

8 miles
91 deg F; heat index 102, sweated like a sinner at a tent revival in Mississippi in August. But it felt GOOD.
I'm 77, had a string of medical problems, could not work out for 3 months, then, wife fell, broke L1 and pelvis, I was her caregiver for 4 months. Started back to working out 6 weeks ago, I was in awful shape. I'm up from 8 pushups 6 weeks ago to 25 pushups today ; curling 30 pounds in each arm; bike distance is up from 2 miles to the 8 miles I did today.
Pain is weakness leaving the body.

More like the Middle Cascades Mt Loop Highway. Out of Granite Falls and the Verlot Ranger Station.

I got in 43 miles today. It was very warm for the Seattle area at around 85F but that's ok because I like it.

A quick flat 30. Had a nice coffee at the finish with a nice cyclist from Seattle at Aroma Coffee in Fall City. It was splendid.

sticky 50 miles. For a Thursday, there was more runners & riders out than usual. Must be giving away free flats or something.

Home by 10am to beat the heat. 15.6 and the usual 700-800 feet.
Shilshole Marina. I never really noticed that long breakwater until this morning. Must have been the relatively early morning light. There was also a bit of fog over Alki in West Seattle.

I was a serious hiker until I used too long a screw to secure a new cleat, which I couldn’t feel poking the bottom of my foot due to some neuropathy. The screw created a painful neuroma which I can tolerate cycling until this winter when I will have it either removed or burned or whatever. So unfortunately hiking really makes it hurt. I will be ok in a couple of days since it is more of an abrasion type rather than the cyst type. More info than you wanted to know, BUT I DO LOVE HIKING!

Still trying
43 miles. 30 loop to the bar for beers with backpacking buddies. 13 home looping about like a brain-damaged butterfly.

33 miles... awaiting in a self service auto wash [ironic?] bay for the pouring rain to kick its speeds down.
If I see lightening, it'll be a shorter ride then initially planned...

Shanghai's blazing hot July continued today, with air temperatures of near 40 degrees again and humidity making it feel well over 50 degrees. Went through over three litres of water on this relatively short ride, which is way more than I usually drink when the temperatures are more reasonable.

23.6 and about 1,100 feet.
Main obstacle today is there seems to be a Pokemon rally along the Seattle Waterfront, over the pedestrian/bike railroad bridge and through Seattle Center. They were all over and staring down into their phones or lining up there phone cameras.
Ah, yes:
"Pokémon GO Fest is the biggest event of the year—join us in Seattle!Seattle, get ready. Pokémon GO Fest is coming to the Emerald City with an event so big it can’t be contained in one park! With two unique event experiences each day—one in Seattle Center and one happening in Seattle—there’s more to explore than ever before!"
