You overestimate my ability to turn my bike. I can only apply approximately 40% of my watts in the correct direction most of the time.

Went to a spin class this morning as part of a group thing my sister in law organized before her wedding tomorrow. I just rode easy while everyone else did all the various things spin instructors do, which I don't see how they mechanically translate into any real world application but whatever lol.

Thankfully my crash yesterday isn't leaving me debilitated so I'm still on to race Monday

Am I? Because this is something you say a lot, as though focusing on a discipline with serious intent of doing well and having fun while doing it are at cross-purposes.

Regarding racing cross against dz, just do the race and maybe then talk about how it went.

My esteem for you could not be higher, but I can confirm that this is true. However you are quite majestic. Stately, even.

my ride yesterday, uploaded to CA today, was 101 tss in 1hr 40min.

I don't think TSS works for TT bikes.

It does, you might just have a different FTP on the TT bike. Mine is so low that there's no difference.

i just don't get why you're so concerned with my attitude towards cross. i spend all road season putting pressure on myself to do well, i enjoy playing around in cross without putting any expectations on myself. you've obviously had a great season and i think that's rad. personally i enjoy being more relaxed in the fall, taking my bike out on the trails occasionally and showing up to races and seeing what happens.

Everybody is bigger then Mikey, even Gsteinb. There is this 12 year old national champion though that is smaller. Don't underestimate his bike handling abilities.

there are so many variables outside of my control (and/or undertrained due to road) to be successful in cx, its hard to put pressure on myself to do well, which was frustrating at first because i tend to want to do well all the time. i'm ready to make a fool of myself at community cx at myles standish though.

training status: was my first week back after two weeks with precisely 0 pedaling, seriously needed it to unwind and get some of my 'self' back with an insane work season and other stuff. probably mostly cadence from now til the snow. easing into p90x2 double sessions. it is a way hard set of circuits, going to take a while to be able to do everything as instructed. really digging in with foam roller has been great too.

Eh, it's not about what you do with your own racing, it's about the blanket statements like "I do blah for fun," implying it's not fun to approach it differently than you do. Just a regular theme. It's totally cool to have a different approach. Doesn't hurt that you're doing well despite all that. Personally I would probably be doing a lot less CX this fall if I were going out and getting my head kicked in every weekend, you know?

I did my recover ride with no power data on my screen today. Did it in the exact same time and KJ count, within about 2%.

Thanks for the advice on the cross thing guys! Will probably work on mostly base for at least a couple more weeks and then slowly bring in the steady state work on the road bike over the course of November / December. Should give me plenty of time to build for end of march.
