Maybe, I wouldn't be so sure this guy probably thinks he wants and will get top dollar.

I would assume that may slow his roll.

The Fiorelli track bike has some unfortunate allure to me.

The ad says "taking offers on individual bikes".

Paramount track bike probably falls into half of our wheelhouse's including mine, especially being a 50's something.

Like I said, someone ought to get to it.

Speaking of 50's Paramount's, here's my 58.

Its too bad we all dont live closer to each other so we could do a group buy. I would be happy with the Pogliaghi and the Merckx and you two guys can have the Paramount and the Fiorelli !!!!!!!!! DONE!

Speaking of high prices and slowing your roll. The seller that raised his price on me twice on the Bob Jackson still hasnt sold it and the ad still shows $100! We agreed at $300 and while I was on the phone finalizing payment he had to go and would call me back. He called me back and said he had more offers and the price was now $500. I reluctantly agreed but was heartbroken the deal had gone this way. We were confirmed to speak the following day for payment and that morning he texted me that several people were now telling him the bike was worth $1000 - $1200 !!! I replied back to him with all of the reasons why it wasnt worth that much and said I was unwilling to go higher and he ghosted me.

Every time I see this ad I question the accuracy of the "bent crank" statement. First I say probably bent pedal spindle. Second bent chainring. Third bent bottom bracket spindle. I have never personally witnessed an actual bent alloy crankarm from a well know name brand.

She's a beaut!! Was curious, do you - or anyone else, know about what year Schwinn stopped using that special stem on the early Paramount track bikes? Sorry, forgot the exact name of it... "Schwinn special extension stem?" Guessing 1961-ish. tnx

Tx!

I don't know, may have been 60-61 as the modern Paramount's seem to not have come with them. This one did come with it, it was available on road and track.

59 was the crossover year when a lot of things changed and Schwinn started using the top of the line foreign parts that were becoming very popular and necessary to compete at the races and in sales.

Here's a good article about some of this.
https://bikeville.blogspot.com/2009/...track.html?m=0

And one of my original threads.
https://www.bikeforums.net/classic-v...nt-p-12-a.html

They are called Schwinn Paramount adjustable sliding stem, double sliding stem, Major Taylor stem.

It is Schwinn branded as is the SP and brake calipers, HS is Schwinn but is not branded, complete wheels are original as is the paint.

This was a huge get for me, price was not bad, it shares my birthday and is the only one I have seen that was/is this original and complete that I could have ever gotten my hands on.

It's the flagship of my Paramount's that currently number at 5.
