These didn’t come in the post but from the Walmart. I don’t have any spare tubes for some reason, not that I get a lot of flats. Amazon seems to think I need to buy 6+ at one time so on my last trip to the Walmart I checked the bike aisle.I was surprised to see a $4.95 presto tube, and delighted to see the stem was almost normal size presto valve to boot!

I was equally surprised to find this style presto adapter for around $3 for two! The local trek LBS wants $5 each for the aluminum ones. Of course the next day I was rounding up a stray valve cap and found two adapters in this little tin.

Although the box says 700x 25-32 these look like they go in a x23 without much trouble.

Probably the most relevant, although not that many posts:

https://www.bikeforums.net/classic-v...ge-jersey.html

There's this one too, take your pick!

https://www.bikeforums.net/classic-v...ew-jersey.html

Did you get those at Neo Troglodytes? I seem to recall seeing similar designs last time I was parusing.

Also, here's a thread where I go down the rabbit hole of chain stitch embroidery:

Thanks, I'm still a bit surprised at the relative small page numbers considering how vast some of the C&V threads are and how long they've been going.

And ha yes you have a good eye, those jerseys were from Neo Troglodytes. Some nice kit but expensive, and because of Brexit now an extra 20%, so I have to ration myself and leave quickly before I get carried away.

And I do recall following your embroidery mission, nice work. I've always wanted to do a custom Simoncini one as to my knowledge they never did any, and I've always wanted one, but have just never got around to it.

I got an email yesterday from UPS saying a box was going to be delivered today, 15lbs. I didn't recall ordering anything, then mostly forgot about it. I was out today and busy with some other stuff at home and missed the delivery message. Ellen came home and said, "There's a big box taking up the entire entryway. Jessica won't be able to get out." (Jessica is our garden unit tenant.) I went down and grabbed it. It was a bike box, not too heavy, certainly not a bike. I opened it to find this:

It came from a fellow I met from The Paceline. He was in town a couple months ago getting his niece settled in for grad school at the University of Chicago. He brought a bike and we rode a couple times. He mentioned having a beat up Weigle that he thought was my size. While I didn't forget the conversation, I thought he'd ping me to see if I wanted it. Then we'd discuss price, etc etc. I dropped him a note today, thanking him for it and asking what he wanted for it. "Nothing. You showed me around when I was in Chicago, and you are doing the GoFundMe for Doug Fattic. I want you to have it."

It does have a pretty serious crimp in the downtube. I contacted Peter Weigle who reported that it is a 1981, so it should feel right at home with my other American bikes from that era. I think I can probably build it up from decent parts just to see how well it fits (likely pretty well ). Then I will have to figure out how to repair it. So, NFD for me... (Can we get banana guy added to our smilies?)

No today but on wednesday

A tiny French mystery frame with M6 threaded brake post mounts

Already made a thread for identifying it! If you have any idea or clue, would be appreciated.

This landed yesterday from CV-6. Another pair of brakes for the Batavus.

A huge package awaits opening on my multi use kitchen island

Much to surprise CV-6 also included these fabulous brake levers. I likely won’t use them so I’ll pass them along with the Dura Ace brakes.

Sort of a cool item. Park seat tube clamp. Plus Park still stocks some of the parts. Will probably wrap the outer bar in bike tape to give a tighter fit in the stand. Someone told me these are great for painting frames in the stand as well.

Plus from abshipp this bounty plus an umseen set of purple cantis. The mono-planers were a total surprise that he threw in. Awesome!

@fabiofarelli Well sure, @Amber1988 said as much. I have a drawer full of them and I get a new one with every inner tube or tubular tire I buy. Some are even not black. That seems unlikely to warrant a post here unless it was, say, made of platinum or hid some special functionality, like pressure cutoff to prevent overinflation.

Goodies

Basso post for Bella as soon as it gets white, blue and red paint to match from the generous @SoCaled

Nearly pristine Centaur brakes from @Force

And Gransport pedals I got from the bay for a very nice price. Lighter than I thought they would be...alloy cages surprised me.

Fresh out of the mold! I ordered these from the Amazon, from what appeared to be a third party seller, as it turns out they came straight from the home office!

Goodies from Greg Softley. The Simplex ones are for the SLJ 6600 on my PX10. It’s show time for the Falcon! The fresh baby blue paint is down, these will go on and then the clear coat.
