Let's see those classic rides on bridges. Big bridges, small bridges, covered bridges, any bridges!

Oregon has lots of rivers and bicyclists, ergo a lot of pix of bikes on bridges.

from the Last Winter Tour of the Willamette Valley - MUP bridge over the Tualatin River

Tillikum Bridge, Portland Oregon. My two speed kickback chrome Raleigh Grand Sports

Eastside Promenade, Portland, Oregon - My first two Gugificazione projects, done for my twins. Lotus Classique in the front.

I5 bridge over the Columbia River, Portland Oregon - did you know it sometimes rains here?

Pedestrian bridge over the Tualatin River - Raleigh Gran Sport with creative pimpage. Check out those hubs.

Other states have bridges too!

I90 bridge headed east from Seattle - "Big Red", my Weigle-ized 650b conversion "grand touring" bike

Ironhorse Trail in Washington state. This trestle bridge crosses a deep gorge. Pic from the Magical Mystery Tour of the Pacific Northwest

NF 23 (Cispus Road) in Washington state from the Magical Mystery Tour. We crossed a LOT of bridges on that 6 day tour!

California has a few bridges as well.

Bixby Bridge near Big Sur - Centurion ProTour, my "zero" bike. Technically not on the bridge, but I did ride over it. Pic from Touroica Sept. 2021

Richmond-San Rafael bridge, SF bay area. pic from TdMIL 2019

Cross Marin trail in California, pic from TdMIL 2021

You can kind of see part of my bike (1984 Bianchi Tipo Corsa) on the Verrazzano Bridge. New York 5 Borough Bike Tour. Please excuse goofy-looking helmet/hat ... currently looking for newer helmet!

a few shots from the Chain of Rocks Bridge that crosses the Mississippi river just a bit north of St. Louis. This used to be part of the famous Route 66, but is now solely a pedestrian and bike bridge. The bridge is 5,353 feet long, and is reported to be the longest bridge dedicated to non-motorized traffic.
Here's the wiki page

near the west end of the bridge....

also near the west end, showing the bend in the bridge. This is not a wide bridge, and the bend was reputed to cause some trouble with the auto traffic at times.

on the downstream side of the bridge, you can see these curious structures. While they look like little chateaus or tiny castles, they are actually the water intakes for the St. Louis water supply! There are videos somewhere showing a quick tour inside one of them.

Steve in Peoria (about 3 hours north of St. Louis)

I believe this is the Pinkerton High Bridge on the Great Allegheny Passage. You can't see much of the bike under the hulking, hirsute rider, but it's there somewhere.

Funny story, the day before this picture was taken, when I was wearing a different jersey, my brother and I stopped at a pub in Ohiopyle and I asked the waitress to recommend a beer from their large selection. She recommended a Black Butte Porter.
