Mike Judge said Beavis & Butt-Head was not set in any particular place, but the water tower you'd see in the background as the boys walked along was based on those of Plano, Texas.

They are talking about the bridge of the song..... A different section in a different key usually. It's a James brown reference really.

that had crossed my mind, but I thought that British slang, idiom, etc., could have been a factor too.

Hadn't ever imagined that James Brown might factor in, though!

Schwinn Super Sport at Hempstead Lake State Park

There was a Grey Heron perched on the branch that is just above the front fender. They were a little camera shy and flew off before I got set up. It's kind of neat to see so close to NYC. In fact, you will see them within NYC as well.

South of Bend, OR, on one of the many great rides in that area.

I’m surprised no one has posted a shot from one of @Lascauxcaveman’s Port Angeles Metric Centuries on the great bike trail bridge beneath the highway west of PA. Think we went that way in 2018.

Another ferry shot, this one from the 2019 Tour of the Willamette Valley (also featured in another post on this thread), but this one with the cold but enthusiastic riders:
