Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

I can pretty much do anything mechanical on my bike except build wheels, so I figured I ought to learn that too.

I guess I am going to have to ride in some cooler weather to support these purchases with the MRS.

is that wallaroo 290 very itchy?? I think it's merino, and merino is usually not real itchy wool. i like the looks of it, but I can't deal with the itchy wool

New PI winter bibs and lobster gloves that have proven successful in 15-17 degree temps. Also a new set of pedals for my trainer bike. The winter clothing is nice for Co winters.

Love those for pulling up over your lower face if the air gets too cold.
I need some kind of neck warmer or balaclava or something for my face when temps are 30's and below. A scarf just doesn't cut it. What neck warmer did you get?

You should get yourself a buff. I love the versatility and it's really good if you get the merino wool one.

Bought a set of Specialized road shoes (basically brand new) for $20 on Ebay. Just got them yesterday and am going to take them out on a ride today. They are in great shape!

Plus, i ordered a pair of cycling shorts from ebay as well (performance club shorts) and I was sent the wrong pair. Talked to the seller and he sent me the correct pair and let me keep the other ones. SO i made out with 2 pairs of almost new performance club shorts for $16!

Smartwool socks, says they're for hiking but used them on a bike ride Saturday evening and they worked awesome! Not once did my toes ever feel the slightest bit cold. Though I was on my KHS wearing Goretex hiking boots, instead of the road bike with SPD shoes on my last cold night ride, but still, I was quite impressed.

Not mine, but the tax alone almost costs as much as my bike.

Must be nice.

LOL at "YOU SAVED $4,500.00!"

And yes that sales tax is also more than the Felt road bike I just bought a few months ago.
