It’s amazing how my commute went to hell over night. Spent all day yesterday trying to get to new york and couldn’t get on a flight. Today my first flight to new york canceled.
It’s going to be a long winter.

I have a careless trainee who just got in to med school. I wrote him a ****** letter but it evidently wasn't ****** enough and I feel bad. Guy's got a good chance of hurting people.
I think a big part of his problem is mild autism spectrum disorder, but I had a flagrantly autistic student for a couple of summers who will make a great and passionately devoted, if unusual, doc if the admissions folks can get past the weirdness.

A brother and sister who were residents at the crap hospital where I did my surgical rotation had no-show med school diplomas that their physician father bought for them in the Dominican Republic...and they were not the worst house staff there! I think they had been to pharmacy school and faked it well enough that it took a NYT story to dislodge them.

Yes great pod. This guy isn't a sociopath, at least.

There was a HUGE cheating scandal at Jefferson a couple years before I started, and apparently some of the offenders (all of whom got expelled) got lawyers and at least one of them got back into med school and he did/redid freshman year with us.
The guy likely had some significant social/mental issues. He would come up in anatomy lab and "show off" how he knew "everything" about our cadaver. I heard he would go to the nearby bar wearing his white coat. Clearly a french shower or worse. He disappeared after 1st year so I am hopeful he did not get turned loose on the public.

Looked it up. The place closes at 7. The owner said he shows up at work at 3 or 4 in the morning to make dough, so he wasn’t going to stick around really late to make them pizza. The games don’t end until late.

BITD I would sometimes stop there for a stuffed bread on cool Sundays in the fall. They fit well in jersey pockets. The tomato pie is also great.

Sadly, I am told the traffic on the road is most unpleasant, but that's life.
