I'm trying to figure out if there is any truth to the Calico/Tortie thing.

For a "feral"cat, my little kitten is the most bonded kitten I've ever seen.
I think they're going back on the 25th, I'd have to check the paperwork.

If you talk to any long term shelter director or foster parent, there is definitely an attitude that comes along with a torti/calico. And insanity is an option. I had a very bonded torti-co that spent years on Prozac because she'd pull out her own fur with anxiety. The last two years of her life, she was so nervous that she decided she preferred to live in a large ferret cage by herself. (She started living in the cage when we began treating her for urine crystals.) Even if we left the door open, she wouldn't come out unless my other cats weren't around--and she'd been with the other cats for over 12 years.

Beautiful cat.

I'm not quite sure it would rank as king of the jungle... but close.

This is from our local "Wildlife Safari", but unfortunately he has passed on, and another lion hasn't taken his place.

Interesting, I'm seeing notes on the web the the British complained about tugowar games with captive cats. But, other zoos have tried it too.

WOW!

What a beautiful coat and markings.

Paddington looks like he would have been featured on Marlin Perkins' "WILD KINGDOM."

Thanks so much for posting.

Oh there'll be more. There's always more. But the season is winding down, so I'll probably have to wait until April for the next group.

Friendly but feral cat. From last night's ride. Might be worth a rescue attempt.

Are you sure it is feral? It does look cared for. Although no collar.

I assume most of the cats that come to me are owned by someone.

My current kitten was a unique case of a young kitten calling to me, but not allowing itself to be seen. And, coming to the back porch (which is somewhat isolated). I checked Craigslist a few times, and no kitten matching mine. Talked to one neighbor, and would have expected neighbors to be hunting for it if it was lost.

Great video here of a tame-ish cat

Hard to say. It seemed intent on catching some dinner and was pretty skinny. I brought a can of cat food and it acted like it had never had wet food before. It snacked on the food for a minute and then went back to hunting.

I borrowed a microchip reader from a friend who rescues cats. I'll see if it has a chip and go from there.

Pad has exactly the same pattern as our 13-year-old Bengal witch, Mitzi. She's just resting on my lap as I write these lines. But if she is in the mood put to flight our 9 kilograms Maine Coon tomcat who's three times heavier than her.

this is Vic. I think she'll be sleeping well today. last night she brought a chipmunk into my daughters' room & had a play mate for approx. 12 hrs. I was able to lure it into a trash basket & let it go in the woods behind our house this morning. she's feeling pretty good about herself & a bit satisfied, I think

Wifey wasn't too thrilled with me this morning. much screening & reprimanding occurred over coffee. I made a tragic mistake while letting the cats play outside in the early evening yesterday, I left the screen door ajar. while Wifey & I were watching football & having dinner, I saw a blur in the corner of my eye. It was Vic coming in & running upstairs (with her prize) unbeknownst to us. I later got the 2 other cats in, which is normally a chore unless a neighbor's dog is barking. didn't hear a sound all night, but this morning I heard the distinctive chirping of a scared chipmunk. I put 2&2 together & ran up to Daughters' room. I saw our black cat & Vic in one area & deduced my morning project. after some time I found it but didn't catch it. I left Vic in the room w/ just dim light so she could find it again. when I heard scurrying feet I went back up & cornered it, & gave it no option but to go into a trash basket

as I was carrying our prize into the woods, in the morning darkness I thought to take a photo of it, but sorry I was barefoot & glad the ordeal was over. it was a good sized unit tho, no newborn baby that's for sure!

mice run into grey trash baskets, BTW. don't ask me how I know

the last time we had a mouse in the house our Son fetched it with our tried & true technique. he ahs since moved out & took his grey waste basket with him! Wifey said I should call him for help. are you kidding me? this is my wheel house! Daughter is away for the next cpl months. I'll have fun telling the tail tale to the kids later

It sounds like you need to keep one.

My little Latte is very cuddly, and vocal. And, still growing quickly.

A little talking back seems to be fun.

I've been trying to teach her to travel some. She seems to be comfortable enough with the bicycle, but doesn't seem to like the pickup, and wants the world to know it. So, perhaps quiet would be better.

I've been practicing with the leash and harness (thus seen in the photo). It works better if I go where she wants to go rather than making her go where I want to go. Or at least try to convince her to want to go where I want to go.

Charlie's not the father btw, he's fixed. Well they weren't able to home her since she was technically feral and could not be handled. They spayed her, found homes for the kittens and I brought her back home to live with Charlie where they have been inseparable for the past almost 5 years. After all that time, she just recently started allowing me to touch her.

She had a good life considering where she started out. All 5 of my cats were strays that people just tossed out of their cars so they could live in the country. It's not a good way for them to live and people should stop doing that. Most of them don't get the care I gave mine allowing them to live for so long. Most just become coyote food. A farmer friend of mine told me he had 28 cats at the beginning of the spring, and he has none at all now due to the coyotes.
I brought Charlie in the house a couple weeks ago for his safety and I didn't want him to be alone since Patches never came back. He's getting along great with the other male cats, but my female Winnie is still a little hesitant. They've all know each other through the screen door for the past 5 years.

Left to right, Buddy, Sylvester and Charlie.

Such a pretty girl! I lost two this year myself. I'm so sorry. The second on is tougher, IMO. Wishing you good thoughts of your Holly.
