Notices
Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

When I got COVID, the pandemic effectively ended, for me personally. I was immune and suddenly had no reason to avoid people or pay close attention to the goings on with it. I never delved into monkey pox at all.
And I also have been smallpox vaccinated.

And now there is mowing to do. It'll be a daily thing until I catch up. I'm only good for a tankful in these times. 90+°, high humidity, and a moonscape underfoot

Just looked it up. Yes, the Circuit replaced the Peloton at the top of the non-Paramount "Lightweight" line. First year was actually 1987, but it didn't get Sante components till 88.

Was 1989 the last year of premium steel road bikes from Schwinn? The 1990 Catalog shows Paramounts, but they all seem to be aluminum.

Thanks all; she is in prep and things are now in the hands of the doctors and whatever cosmic forces exist.

This facility is at least outwardly far better than the one I was in.

You can get covid again, the protection from an infection seems to wane after about 6 months. Sad.

According to bikepedia, the 853 Pelotons were available from 1998-2000. I don't really remember what Schwinn had in nice steel from 90-97

I have a 92 steel Paramount. Tange Prestige
Waterford(Richard Schwinn) might be building steel bikes still.

Schwinn ceased to be at the end of 92. All steel Schwinn's were thereafter built by Waterford.

I used to be the proud owner of the first model they imported from Giant--the 78 World, the first model imported from Panasonic--the 72 World Voyageur, and the last model Paramount from the original company-- the 92 Paramount. I no longer have the World Voyageur, and the World hangs as a frame set

Some of the diners around here open at 5am. I have never been the first customer at any of those establishments.

Most cities I've been to have a certain percentage of SBUX that open at 0430 hours.

I've a couple near home

I'm in a spate of sleeping 9 hours per night. And it's coupled with a spate of higher than normal energy during the day. Coincidence?
And it's a good thing, as there is a higher than normal amount of work to do at the moment.
It's certainly better than having to do calisthenics to keep the blood flowing.

Mombug (love that) is out, all went smoothly. The hospital is being very inconsiderate in terms of letting me know what to expect time-wise and asking me to just bring her a snack and then taking me for two
hours. But getting this done is good and can be home this evening.
