Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Thanks Robert. That was taken near the Golden Gate Bridge. It's a 1 way street. This isn't a very good picture but I like the 18% grade road sign. It's super fun to ride.

The flowers were awesome this year because of the drought. The grasses weren't nearly as high as they normally are. Hopefully we'll get more rain this year but it was definitely the silver lining to the lack of rain. I can't believe I didn't take any pictures then. I was too busy riding.

Oh these were in the city, in Toronto! You just have to find those isolated roads.

What's going on with your shifter or brake cable? It looks a little loose.

Yeah. My rear brake cable was about a 1/4 inch short and kept dragging the pads on the rim so i disabled out. That pic was taken Monday, today i gave Bessie New cables, a tune up, and a wash.

Oh my GOD yes - at least compared to Ontario. Riding up the Cliffs of Moher for instance just about did me in permanently - WOW. Great payoff though.

Is that a road? It looked like a path to me. Looked like bike width lanes, not car width lanes.

I rode that last month. The 18% grade freaked me out to the point where I ended up putting my feet down, fred-flintstone-style to slow down. The again, I'd just had a double-wheel blow-out the day before during a high-altitude descent where I braked too much and didn't lower my tire pressure.. I was a bit ***-shy for that 18% bit. BEAUTIFUL area to ride, though!

Where is that @OldsCOOL? The view looks familiar, but I can't place it.
