2x2 with LA friends on Shelf Road above Ojai, California last Sunday. Our first mutual tandem ride with friends. We have at least three other road-riding couples we're encouraging to try tandem riding. Riding on a tandem is a hoot, but with friends who also ride one is a "hootie-hoot, hootie-hoot!"

This was a while ago, not that we're not still happy...
It's an early-90s Huffy Albatross, with surprisingly decent components. We use it mainly for errands and getting around town, but here's a pic from an organized event.

Chichi thank you for posting something to move this thread up again. I was just thinking I might do the same thing 2 days ago.
Here is a picture of my wife earlier today in Anacortes, Washington. It was in the low 50s today (which is unseasonably warm for here in February).
For some reason she wanted me to mention she is wearing a number of layers including a sweatshirt. For those familiar with the Adventure Cycling Association, Anacortes Washington is at the western end of the Northern Tier.

Ginny and I are growing tired of the cold gray days and looking forward to riding soon.
Best Wishes for a great 2010 riding season.

What should I find in my Santana promotional email today, but the same pic of the chichi's that is up thread, only representing California, not New Zealand.
Nice pic, I could see why they would want to use it.

Transylvania by Tandem
Love the pictures and your home-built tandem! I visited Romania a while ago and thought that it was very beautiful and the perfect place for a hiking/walking holiday. Now you have given me an idea..."A Transylvania by Tandem" vacation! The place is magical with all the fortified villages and ancient castles...perfect for cycling....!

Inaugural Valentines Day Tandem ride
An overall success but Arlene's search for padded cycling shorts and an super-soft saddle is underway. Her red cycling jersey, helmet and gloves were a valentines day gift from me. She looks happy but is unaware that its a 15 mile ride to the restaurant for dinner this evening.. :-)

Suffering continues in Northern California, after a 25 mile ride to a local winery we were forced to bottle our own wine. The ride home was marred by light winds and temperatures in the mid 60"s

Rode the Rice Valley Tandem Rally this past weekend (95 mile "century"): great weather, friendly folks and (almost too) flat! Returned to cycling after 20 years in August '09 and bought our daVinci in May. 2200 miles later we're still married. This picture is at the 70 mile mark give/take and my wife was experience some seat discomfort around 40 miles; some on-the-fly seat adjustments and she was able to gut it out. Picture courtesy of DanH on his daVinci with his SO Kathy. We enjoyed their company for the last 35 miles. The second loop of this ride circumnavigates the Sutter Buttes, the worlds smallest mountain range actually a 1.5 million year-old volcano.

First long ride, We call it the Brazos Loop in Glen Rose, 28 miles, lots of hills,
38 Mph max speed, 15 Mph ave. Lots of singing and a great question, when can we do it again daddy.

The Pino makes for fun trips, and easy photo-hamming.

From this morning's Blossom Ride, one last trip on the venerable Burley. Mrs. Ritterview says she was leaning forward to make sure we were both in the picture, but I prefer to think she was perfecting an aero stoker position.
The temp was about 49 F.

OK, not exactly a tandem couple but I like this pic of a racked tandem (and half-bike) on top of our Murano coming back from a ride Saturday. Just imagine two happy peeps on the bike some time shortly before this pic.
