Another Bont Question
Long story short, I'm getting a pair of Bonts for free.
I normally wear a size 43 in Specialized and Shimano. Going by Bont's sizing chart where I put my heel against a wall and measure to my longest toe, I get 260mm, which gives me a size 41-42. I'm sure there's a reason to the madness, but does anyone have anything to say about this from experience?
I unfortunately can't try them on... :/

Go into weight weenies. There is a recent thread there about some guy that has like 8 pairs of them (last 2 weeks), and they are discussed at length in terms of fit and comparing them to other brands. Do a search there. It is a very commonly used shoe among people on that site.

My sizes are Specialized--44.5, Shimano--45, Pearl Izumi--45.5. The Bont rep recommends sizing up about one half-size from Shimano, but 46 felt about right. I would not make a purchase without trying them with my own footbeds, though.

Great. I think I'm going to blindly trust in the sizing system, and if they don't fit right then I'll start sanding off my toes.
What? They're Vaypor's! Who wouldn't do that?

I picked up some Bont A-ONEs on closeout at a bike show recently. They also had some Bont A-THREEs but they fit differently than the A-Ones so it really depends on what model Bont you are getting.
FWIW, here are the sizing of shoes I wear:
Bont A-ONE - 44.5
Sidi Ergo 2 - 45
Cannondale RP1100 (Diadora) - 46

The stack height in them is 3.6 mm. I know because I am considering getting a pair myself. Whether you will need moving your seatpost or not will mostly depend on how far off from that number is your second pair of shoes. I went from custom D2 to off the shelf Specialized BG-works and did not adjust the seatpost at all.
