This Season's Mileage So Far
Would like to have been further along toward a season goal of 3000 miles but at least I finally
passed the 1000 mile mark. 1013 season to date, 101 miles for the week. Hoping for a long season.

I have a less ambitious goal of 2400 miles for the year. All the rain in May and June set me back quite a bit, but now I'm only about 100 miles down on where I would like to be.
I finally quit waiting for it to stop raining and decided to go out and ride in the rain. Now it's hot. Oh well, I guess that just means taking plenty of water.

Over 2100 miles since May 1; probably 2500 total since March 1. Goal is ballpark 5,000 miles by Christmas when my season officially ends, but to get there I need to hit 4000-plus by the end of September.

I aspire (and sometimes perspire) to ride 100 miles a week. Some weeks I reach this goal and some weeks I don't. Overall, I try to ride 2,000 miles a year. Fell a little short last year, but I should get it this year. What keeps me from riding more is that I live in a small town in Vermont and I get bored riding the same roads over and over again; which means I have to take my bike and travel to new places. But that takes time and planning, etc. Any other rural riders out there feel the same way?

Yes, I have the same thing here in rural Washington; everyone in the area knows who I am (the old guy who rides a trike) because they see me riding 'every day.'

Had a huge damper put on this year's mileage accrual due to prostate cancer, but, I believe I finally got my legs and body back this past Saturday. Albeit a slow 76 miles, the good part was minimal pain during and after.
Low IQ allows me to repeat routes without that, bored riding the same roads, syndrome. Same thing applies to lap swimming and marathon preparation.

3,050 YTD towards my goal of 6,000. Started to fall behind in June due to a health issue but, now I the miles are coming back. I should be able to catch up to my schedule in August and September but 1,500 miles in the last quarter of the year is going to be difficult.

I'm at 2800, but I dunno what I'm going to be able to do for the rest of the year - dealing with injuries and a lot of scheduled travel. I hope I can make 5000. If I don't make 4000, then something will have gone wrong.
I get really happy when I can exceed 800 miles in the warm months, but this year that will only be true for May.

I'm at 2890 miles since New Year's. I like to do 7000+ for the year but it is not going to happen due to partially torn Achilles.

What is a season?
1922 so far this year. A bit less than I had intended, but my long rides are way down this year.

DANG, apparently we have a bunch of riding wounded geezers trying to stay vertical on 2 or 3 wheels for as many miles as possible each year for as long as possible. I often answer the question, "How are you doing?" with "I'm still vertical." While sleeping and swimming are my exceptions to the _omo erectus stature, there are times when this body/mind would not be apposed to being _omo erestus as dustus.
Cranks going round and round enjoying the time spent doing so, whether solo or with company, doesn't get much better than that.
Set a goal-don't set a goal-just keep in mind-to go-go-GO.

Got a jump on this year's mileage by starting in Florida and New Orleans during the first 3 months of the year. At about 1400 right now, goal is 2000 plus. Would like to hit 2500 but we shall see. Just keep at it, but it does start to get chilly in November in New England as you probably know.

So far, as of yesterday, I am at > 3,900 miles this year. Its just a bit behind last year at the same point, but I have no complaints. Its been the amount of summer pop-up thunderstorms that have cut a few rides short, or even forced a rest day. I have started moving my start times to later in the afternoon, and in the early morning on Saturday, due to this heat wave we are having.
I have to agree with BD, what is a season? That is the advantage to living in the deep southeast, and along the central Gulf Coast.

I didn't get any riding done for the month of February due to a sudden medical issue and my riding suffered some in June and the beginning of July after my wife broke her leg. I don't shoot for goals as to how many miles I ride but I was hoping that this years miles would top last years. With the summer thunderstorms we've been having lately and an 18 day cruise coming up in two weeks, it doesn't look as if I'm going to do it this year. Maybe next year I'll do a little more riding.
As of this posting.

"What is a season?" is a very valid question. We had a lot of poor riding days this Spring even though I started in mid-April. Only in the last few weeks that I have gotten back to my 100 mile a week minimum. A few years ago I remember riding well into December but last winter was horrible here in Maine; started early and went on forever. Let's hope this year is not a repeat.

I don't measure miles and I don't set mileage goals, but if I did this year would be a total disaster!
Total miles are less than a 100 due to injury and subsequent complications.
Oh well, there's always next year.

3326 miles since January. I don't have the breakdown between commuting and recreational miles with me ('ll try to remember to look at it tonight). Goal is to exceed 5k for the year (should be doable, assuming no accidents); although with my "bucket list ride" behind me, I'll probably start tapering off on the riding and ramping up on the running (to prep for my "bucket list run").

4181 miles. Hope to surpass last year's total.
Doing a couple of two day 180 mile rides. Riding RSVP in Aug with my daughter, then Pedal the Cause San Diego 2 Day in Sept.

For most people biking season is May through September. For the real diehard riders, it's New Years Day through New Years Eve. My season is roughly St Patty's day through Christmas.
