Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

I like V-shaped wheels when my rides start and end in a wind tunnel. I don't like them nearly as much for roads that have curves. :/
Sounds like bunch of BS to me..!

I wasn't ragging on MEILENSTEIN at all, T-Mog. I was genuinely asking if you knew if they were making toroidal profile wheels yet. I have no problem with V-profile wheels if you like them, and I enjoy your posts.

Ain't no BS. Just a real question.

You are assuming the bike will actually get ridden

Well, whichever wheels you decide to go with just make sure you CAPITALIZE the name so everyone is CLEAR on it.

It doesn't need to get ridden. With "V" profile wheels it is more likely to get blown over when he props it against something for photos.

Careful with the generalizations here. Where was your F10 frame made?

I'd like to encourage you to do more thorough research.

The European Union allows for something to be marked as "made in Italy" if the final stages of manufacturing are performed there, provided those stages have an economic impact on the product. So final assembly, painting, etc. allows them to mark a bike as " made in Italy".

That is much different from manufacturing the frame.

Because clearly Italy can't make anything out of carbon fiber, that's only done in Taiwan...

No. That's not why, as you sarcastically demonstrate. Obviously great CF work is done there.

Just not by Pinarello.

Colnago, however, does manufacture their C60 in Italy (from raw Japanese fiber), if you want a truly Italian-made bike.

Pinarello is a "ITALIAN BIKE"...

Actually, they put them together in Italy from tubes and lugs manufactured in the Far East (not sure whether Taiwan or China).

Close.

Pinarello is an Italian company.

Pinarello makes an "Italian" bike.

It appears you are correct.

So there you go. At least Colnago constructs the frame in Italy. Pinarello probably does some design there, maybe even has an oven for laying up prototypes, but the F10's frame isn't made in Italy.

$6k? Team Sky's bikes in that livery are the XLight model of the F10. They're $8k.
