Golf and Baseball gloves perform as well or better, are easier to find, and are cost less.

Nice. I've worn them when I played competitive flag football in college. But, I've never worn them since I took up track racing. I mentioned baseball and golf gloves because I've tried them and they are designed to grip a cylindrical object...and allow the hands to slide along the object if needed. Sorta, stick when you want, slide when you want. Baseball gloves are more robust. Golf gloves feel sooooo nice.
From what I recall about wide receiver gloves, they are very tacky and simply stick to everything. Would you recommend them as well?
I have baseball, golf, and 5Bling gloves now. Golf are my favorite but I use the baseball more often because they are the workhorse. Golf for big races
Edit:
The upside of Baseball gloves is that, in the US, you can find them easily at local stores and try before you buy. Same for the most part for Golf. The difficult part for golf is that it's hard to find a match set. Most are left hand only (as most people are right handed) and usually only 1 glove is worn.

When I do use gloves (not at home kids) I do find they work well enough, have some Nike vapour jet 3s from when I payed a season and totalled an ankle. Didn't realise how well the breathed until using them on track, campared to cycling specific gloves

I've used cycling gloves, batting gloves, receiver gloves, and motorcycle gloves. The motorcycle gloves are by far my favourite, followed by receiver gloves. Batting gloves are too thin, in the case of a crash (my opinion), and most cycling gloves actually suck for track racing.
These are the motorcycle gloves I used, the ICON Pursuit perforated.
The leather is thicker than batting or golf gloves, they breathe amazingly well, and they have soft armour over the knuckles. The fit is awesome, better than any full finger glove I have ever worn. 1 pair lasted me 4 seasons of riding, including on the road, and I still have them (10+ years later). Had I not stopped riding/racing, I still don't think I would've worn them out, they're that durable.
Receiver gloves were best for anything standing start related. Best grip on the bars you can get out of a pair of gloves. Second is hockey tape, because the glue seeps through the cloth and tacks up nicely.

I tried some receiver gloves once- they were definitely sticky, but the material on the palm was too thick for me and bunched up. These were made by Nike, perhaps the wrong brand/type, dunno. I tried some 5Bling gloves in the past, found them overpriced and fragile. I use batting gloves.

The Icon gloves are about $75, so not cheap but you do get what you pay for. I would certainly buy another pair if I needed them.
The receiver gloves do have a thicker palm than most. That's because the leather is coated or tackified and this adds to the thickness. CUTTERS brand are the stickies. You can use them on bare chrome and they won't slip one bit. The tackiness isn't just a coating with that brand. It penetrates the full thickness of the leather. They may be to sticky for some.
The Icon gloves are still my favourite. The perforations even give you some extra stick when using Soyo grips as it meshes enough with the diamond grip pattern.

Re: SRM.
The new version does not need to be recalibrated when swapping arms. One simply needs to torque to speck. I confirmed with SRM a few weeks ago. Also, the newer SRM track versions are weather sealed - older versions are not.

I found this 5bling japan ********************??
I see Josiah is OS tripping around ATM as I follow him on IG. I'm going to try contacting him when he gets back to Oz to see if he's still selling them out of here somewhere or if I need to look at that Japanese option

I went to the sporting goods store today and picked up some Under Armour wide receiver gloves. I grabbed a football and tossed it from non-gloved hand to gloved hand. I don't see how these gloves are not considered cheating in football!!!
They are sooooo much more tackier than when I used some many years ago. I mean, if the football barely touched a finger, it was stopping in its tracks.
I haven't done any starts with them. Maybe this week.
I also found some of that Lizard Skins 0.5mm bat grip, too. It seems cheaper at $11, but it's inch-for-inch about the same price as cycling Lizard Skins tape.

When I was digging out my old gloves to compare textures, I found a resin bag ($5). These work to improve the grip of your gloves or bare hands. So does weightlifting chalk ($15-20). I prefer chalk between the two. You can also use the chalk in the gym when you are gettin' swole'
It's sort of difficult to see here, but Hoy would sometimes use bare hands and chalk (I assume it was chalk) for time trials. You can see the white substance near the palms of his hands.

Anyone have any experience of attaching soles to uppers?
Are the cement style ways of attaching strong enough to hold up to track?
Would wearing straps reduce the strength requirement of the bonds?

How does one go about getting a BT frame? I've always been interested in buying one, but it seems like it's a secret club. They don't publish prices, how to buy one, geometry, or any other specs.
How much are they new?

Last I checked the cost for a new Edge frame was roughly $7k aud
You have to contact them directly via email, and as you said there isn't much info in regards to geom or specs
I currently have a 2nd hand stealth, my last frame was also a stealth but was a very early version and a size smaller. My wife now rides it.

Do they make them to order, as in: I call, order, pay, then they start laying up carbon? (I hear LOOK does that). Or do that have them in stock and ship immediately?
Can I request a geometry (basically a long TT and tall head tube) as I would only be using drop bars, or do they only use a template?

My buddy with one said it was closer to $5k, due to low exchange rates. Shipping was like $400 though.
He said he had to wire them payment and the bike shipped or arrived about six weeks later.
