Cyclocross and Gravelbiking (Recreational) This has to be the most physically intense sport ever invented. It's high speed bicycle racing on a short off road course or riding the off pavement rides on gravel like : "Unbound Gravel". We also have a dedicated Racing forum for the Cyclocross Hard Core Racers.

I started my riding "career" with a 2011 Rocky Mountain Solo CXR, and winter riding. Winter turned into spring CX, then into summer road and back into fall CX. This bike has done it all and taken every bit of punishment. Even some local and regional CX races - Mad Anthony and Detroit Invitational (Detroit, MI), Paris to Ancaster (Ontario)

Aluminium frame
carbon forks/seat stays
SRAM Apex components

P2A Aftermath

P2A Starting Gate

Mad Anthony Detroit

Winter river ride

P2A time to wash it off

Detroit Invitational

Finally, four months after getting the frameset, I’ve put the titanium ‘19 T-Lab X3 on the road!

It’s mostly hardpack gravel roads around here, and rides always include stretches of pavement, so I’m running 35c Rene Herse Bon Jon Pass Extralight rubber.

It's a Selle Italia Flite 1990, a modern reproduction by Selle Italia, of that classic ti Flite.

I actually have a minty original Selle Italia Flite Ti perforated saddle that I bought back in my college days 25ish years ago. It's a comfy saddle but I just got a Brooks C17 Carved to try out too. I'll just stash the Flite and hang on to it if I like the C17 better. This isn't mine but it's the same one (in basically the same condition).

Man, I know these have a loyal following, but I could never get comfortable on the flite. When I first started riding, I had same saddle problems and everyone said I need to get a Flite, so I got a top of the line Flite Gel Ti and then had big time saddle issues. I sold it for $20 at a swap meet. If only I had known it would be a classic 18 years later!

Yeah, I don't know if it is necessarily the most comfortable saddle for my needs or I wouldn't be looking. Maybe I just need it adjusted properly? Like you it was a popular choice back in the day. I'll hang on to it for nostalgia I guess lol but I'm looking forward to giving the C17 a try.

I think the Flite became iconic because it was the first (commercial) lightweight saddle. I rode them exclusively for years, and even grabbed an extra when they went out of production, I was so committed. However, as I was forced to move on, other lightweight saddles were available and I found them more comfy. The original Flite still looks great, though, and is rightfully iconic.

ZOMG a Schwinn S-series!! I have the same bike in the same size - These are seriously under-appreciated bikes! Anyway, here's mine:

A bike a built up a couple months back. Otso means the spirit of the bear in Finnish mythology, and well, I'm Finish, so I had to buy it.

Super nice. I just stripped mine to the frame and am getting ready to sell it. I love the bike and the way it handle but it's just too small for me. All the parts are going on my 97 Schwinn Moab.

Here's a sneak peek....

Something about the Rove ST - they really got it right. Comfy as heck for long days, and a total shredder. I don't know how the new one is--they changed a few things I think, but this one's a keeper for sure.

I'm with you. Bought a bike that was lightly used and the previous owner had installed one which I didn't know anything about. Rode it to the shop where I picked out a new saddle and tossed the old one in the trash, two of the guys working their both dove for the can to get it. Wished I known what they cost, could have gotten lunch out of it instead but the whole ride to the shop was painful.
