Heck, that movie also had Tito Larriva in it as well. Tito and his band at the time Cruzados, were the house band in the first club Swayze was working in. He appeared in and did music on a lot of Robert Rodriguez movies. His band Tito and Tarantula are the house band playing in Dusk Till Dawn during Salma Hayek's famous snake dance scene.

Lovely post. Just curious, do you have any issues with people who play 0 sports but wear football and baseball attire like jerseys and caps?

Also, TDF-type cyclists are old and tired, the new 'look' to rage about, IMO, is the unkempt facial hair/flannel shirt/cowchipper handlebar/fat tire bikepacking, adventuring, have-a-beer-in-camp-but-leave-no-trace gravel riders.

I call them "wanna be tour de-france riders" i see every day a few who dress fancy expensive riding clothes and ride bikes that cost more than grand and ride as if they trying to set world record in speed, (often are running trough red light).
Don't get too worked up over it. We see this phenomenon just about everywhere, in every sport or pastime. If it makes a person happy to "look" like the pros they admire then, have at it! God bless capitalism that we can buy such merchandise.

People probably say I look like a "Fred" when I ride but I wear what is comfortable, safe and keeps me cool. Plus, at my age, I don't relish looking like a sausage link perched atop a skinny-tire bike huffing up a hill.

I do have a collection of really fine, fine bike jerseys I've accumulated over the years (20 or 30 maybe?) but hardly ever wear them now. I never did care to look like a pro rider but I did have nice duds...but they weren't team colors or jerseys.

Live and let live and as the French say:
Laissez le bon temps rouler! Célébrer nos différences!

At 6'2" 190# which is American normie near death skinny, per cycling standards I'm too fat to even attempt riding up a measurable incline.

Speaking of which, had anyone seen Peter Frampton? Dude is wafer thin.

What kinda relish we talking with that sausage link? Not the sweet stuff, I hope. Maybe some dill relish. But not the toxic green stuff they use in Chicago. Yeesh.

I want to look like Marco Pantani, dancing up the mountain.

Usually, though, I look more like Mario Cipollini - quitting before I get to the mountain.

They all are skinny and probably would be fast riding any bike, but when they invest in lighter bikes this get's them even faster.

Never understood this what this riders are all about, are they try to set world record in speed or something, i doubt that they ever will participating in any cycling sport events.

I know there's such thing as bicycle industry and marketing that popularize this, e.g. fishing industry for example and if you go to fishing store you see thousands of lures, hooks, and different types fancy rods when in reality do you really need to make it so complicated to catch a fish?

I know this is also some kind of popularized thing, but what is it all about?
Brother I mean no offense but I am very confused about your post. People with money buy expensive gear, it really doesn't mean much about their skill or speed. If anything, a cyclist is more likely to blow through a red light if they are wearing street ware and not on a nice bike. People like going fast, there isn't much more than that

I think OP is displaying his insecurities. Those guys you are judging don't care about you and are riding those bikes and that way to make themselves happy. You would do well to do the same: ride what and how you want and don't worry about them.
