I was thinking of trying pair of these out but in checking the Specialized website it seems they have changed the construction method for the pad from sewn to glued leading the a LOT of unhappy customers. Looks like if you could find the old version they are great but current version is terrible.

That was my experience. It sucks because they were great gloves other than the fact that their key feature (the palm padding) fails after a single ride.

I’m noticing a trend with cycling cloves. They all seem to be cheap **** that costs an arm and a leg. I was looking for winter gloves. Wanted no padding (of course) and etip I finally found a pair I liked from Bontrager. Bought from the LBS. Their website and the packaging said etip. Except there was no etip. Confirmed with Bontrager that the packing was wrong. 🙄

I'm nursing along a old pair of Performance gloves that just won't wear out. They are perfect for me and I don't think they cost more than $15 several years ago. What little padding was there is long since gone, synthetic leather so it wears forever and doesn't get stiff, terry cloth on the back to wipe away sweat from my eyes and even the Velcro still works good enough to hold the gloves closed. Wish I would have purchased several pairs.

Scattante! I had a pair, too. I loved them. White, thin, no padding, no Velcro. It was their house brand. Unfortunately the local stores closed and I don’t think they make those gloves, any more. I can’t find any of their house brand items, any more.

I say yeah they are well ventilated. the backs are mesh and they're very stretchy, the palms are thin and very flexible. they don't have Velcro or a tight band on the wrist, I can pull them off with my teeth (not that you should do this). they're overall very comfortable, but I don't wear them around the house or when typing on bike forums

I have 2 pairs of Specialized Pro SL gloves, no padding, venting is good even in 90 degree weather and they’ve held up really well to washing

Tried a pair of Giro Zero CS and they worked great. I should wear a medium according to the sizing chart, but read that they come smaller than that so I got large and they work great.

Yeah, the large is really tight on me, especially when new. Hard to get on, but comfy once in place. They don't slide around on the hands.

I've been using my Giro LTZ II gloves for the last 3 years and they still don't show any wear. I've done about 50000kms with them. I don't know what kind of sorcery is this.

I like them so much I have 3 more spares.

Slightly different shape to the padding so comfort and feel may be different, but still might be worth a shot if you liked the Specialized version of the idea.

A number of years ago I bought a pair of Danier Leather driving gloves. I really like them. Mine fit a lot better than the one in this image.

The Giro Zero CS is my new favorite glove. I wear Medium based on their size chart and it fits perfectly. Tight to get on, but perfect when riding and like you say don't slide around.

Also...they are super easy to get off after the ride. The finger pulls work really well.

Except that they have a pretty thick pad which is not what the OP wants. I have a few pairs of the Monaco II and prefer the non padded Zero CS.

For fix gear riding, especially with climbing, I like MTB long fingered gloves. Used Danskin and Giant so far. I like the Danskin a little better but the fingers are just a touch short for my skinny but long hands so I wear out the index tips prematurely. Not and issue with the Giants. Both these gloves have zero padding and also don't wear out at the base of my palms where nearly every padded glove I've ever owned does. The Giants cost me $25 at Portland's best shop, so not expensive for gloves that have outlasted a lot of my padded ones.

I've had a lot of cheap Performance gloves. Most have been up there for riding comfort, all have lived good useful rides and I've had very few quality issues. (On that last part, I've struck out with every PI pair I've owned so I no longer consider them.)
