14 miles on Jupiter Island, my favorite time seems to be just before the sunset when temperature drops and gentle breeze kicks in and roads are strangely void of cars and people. Lost my keys when taking the pictures, had to backtrack and eventually found them in the middle of the road flattened by the passing cars. Lessons learned: don't put your keys half way into the pocket.

I need to replace my tires on my Trek Domane, the first set that came with the bike was good for about 2200 miles. I am looking for a moderate($35-$45)priced puncture resistant tire. All my riding is on roads or MUPs. Being I am in my late 60s dependability is more important than rolling resistance. I have looked at quite a few reviews on line, but getting some real world guidance would be appreciated Thank you

It will be easier in Canada, we measure distances in Kilometres. That makes for bigger numbers.

Nope didn't ride today, the smoke from the wildfires comes and goes. Today was too much of it!
Tomorrow will have more smoke, it may clear by Wednesday.

First ride with any of my grandkids and this one was really special. One of my granddaughters is special needs but loves doing active things. We went on a pretty long ride on the beach with me carrying her in a back harness. She loved it. She was positioned high enough to where she could see over my shoulders so she could easily see what we were doing.

I also took her fairly far into the ocean (not on the bike) and we jumped waves. She laughed longer and harder than she ever had…..especially when the waves would break on us. The rougher the better!!!

You might look at Vittoria’s line of tires. They have some models that are good all around tires but priced really well. I’ve gotten some at bargain prices and they perform super.

Merlin has some 28’s at a great price right now

Continental Gator Skins are a very popular tire and offer a little more puncture resistance as well. You can usually find them within your price range, too.

Glad you had a beautiful day with your granddaughter. As good of a time she had, I bet it was a better time for you

I appreciate it. 8 days of tests and today they told me they were releasing me saying it must be a one time thing that some people experience. 40 minutes later they said they want to repeat a test and are keeping me in.

33.33 miles today so a bit better than yesterday's 26.62 miles. Once the sun makes an appearance the enjoyment declines rapidly due to heat and humidity so I'm figuring on a 4AM start tomorrow.

Got released from the hospital after 10 days with a brain hemorrhage. Can't drive for 30 days otherwise can do normal routines but no lifting. However I believe my pelvis got out of position and so only laying down removes the pain. Will tackle that on Monday! Thanks to those that rode an extra mile when I couldn't!

Glad to hear that you have been released. That is some rough stuff, to be sure.

I did 67km this morning, plus one more for you, for a total of 68!

63 miles. Pretty typical dog days ride in NC. Probably one of my last few rides up to the in-laws house before they move.

Lovely! BTW, I recently purchased a unit in Jensen Beach. In the winter we will be neighbors, kind of.

A sobering reminder…I rode 8 miles today, my longest in 2 years, and I kind of bonked. Got home feeling a little, shakey and crappy. Temp was only 82F. You old guys take it easy out there.
