BMC Teammachine - Powdery substance inside frame (BB area)

Hi All - Recently decided to upgrade my bike having been served admirably by my '04 R600 Cannondale for past 5 years. Got a good deal on a 2018 BMC Teammachine SLR01 frameset which was advertised as a showroom model (sold as "New"). Just received yesterday and have been inspecting to ensure everything is A-OK with the bike. I've identified a few issues, some of which I'm OK with. One thing that I'm not sure about is the inside of the frame in the BB area. There is a powdery dust covering the carbon inside the frame. I see that this texture sharply ends at the connections with the connecting tubes (back to glossy carbon finish). If I rub it with my finger, my finger comes out with a silver grey powder on it. Can anyone offer any insight as to what this is based on the attached pics? Galvanized corrosion? Surface coating (fiberglass)? Dust?

Having trouble attaching pics...

Thank you for any help!!

It's outside of the BB contact points. It's the area inside the frame. Lemme see if I can PM you the pics. Would really appreciate a second opinion from you if you know.

Is it everywhere on the inside of the frame? Something about the production/curing process?

If it was on the outside, I'd wonder if it was something to keep it from sticking to the mold (think corn meal on the bottom of a pizza crust).

Nope. Literally only on inside of frame in Bottom Bracket "well" area. Rest of the frame looks perfect, but something looks off about this region. The BB shells are also quite beat up, but I suppose I can live with it. Did you get a chance to look at the photos? imgur dot com /a/AVsRN5X (sorry, it won't let me post links yet since I'm new). Any insights would be much appreciated. Thank you!!

It can be corrosion, I have seen that a lot with alloy parts and frames sweat goes down the seat tube and causes havoc. I am not bothering with the broken link, if you are interested in posting pictures you will become a more active member of the forum and post a bunch so you can get to the amount needed and beyond to post photos. Otherwise you would have just used google or alta vista or ask Jeeves.
