Addiction 2021.4

Notices
Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Did the Zwift Academy 'Recovery Ride #2 yesterday. Like the last time, I was OTB early, but I really wonder how many of the riders were going at Recovery pace? I was riding so as to stay entirely in the gray and blue, which I mostly managed except when the road went up, where I just naturally tended to push harder till I remembered to shift into a lower gear and spin up it. Not entirely pointless, but it was pretty boring. So I ended up drafting some guy on a TT bike, who wouldn't let be be in front of him, but also wouldn't go fast enough to drop me. I allowed myself to fall back a few seconds, but pretty quickly caught up with him again. The I passed him and he caught me up and got in front again. So I let him stay there.

What's weird is it worked fine on monday.Thursday I wanted to ride it and no front derailluer. Wtf? F.derailluer, Total brick. Won't update firmware. We'll it states it has the the latest update, 2.7.3, but as soon as you end the update session. It says it needs an update while displaying the current update is the same one it's downloading.

It might not have been an intentional effort by the TT guy you were with. There is a "sticky" component to drafting that assists in keeping people together for group riding. I had a similar thing happen with a TT guy yesterday. If we were at similar w/kg rates, I couldn't get away from him, and dropping back, I would just end up catching him again. I usually don't mind riding with people, but wasn't feeling it at the time. I finally got sick of it, ramped it up to 4.0 for a bit, and put some space between us.

In other forums the moderators just delete the post, and life goes on, but I'm sure something must be wrong with that approach.

Okay, so, dumb question: I can understand the reluctance IRL, but what's the objection to riding in close proximity to a stranger virtually?

As above inappropriate picture. Ban is for 1 week. Unclear if he will come back right away but I hope so!

So you don't DM them with something along the lines of, "hey - maybe we should be friends!"?
