GRX CX levers and Spank bars
Bought a Cannondale Topstone gravel bike a month ago. It came with GRX groupset including hydraulic disk brakes. My old bike of nearly two decades had cable CX cable levers on the bar top and I’ve come to depend on them especially on hills. My bike shop had to hunt around but found a set of the new GRX hydraulic CX levers and installed them on the stock 44 cm Cannondale handlebars, which are too narrow for me. The CX levers worked great but their design meant the levers had to be attached right next to the stem on the 31.8 bump. Some searching led me to Spank Flare 25, 50 cm bars, which extend the 31.8 diameter right out to the ramps. This allowed the levers to move outboard, which is especially nice when breaking on uncertain surfaces during steep descents.

Couldn't resist the sale price for a set of Showers Pass waterproof wool gloves. My resistance was so lousy that I wound up with two pairs. Almost have saved up enough pennies for a set of shorter cranks (155 or 160, flipping coins) from Canfield Bikes.

REI finally got the Cannondale Topstone 1 Alloy in stock in my size. The price has gone up since they were last in stock, but the 10% dividend, plus 5% to put it on their credit cards sure helps.

Oooh, I’d like a constant diameter across the tops, too. I really want a 35mm, mildly flared, carbon fiber drop bar with that constant diameter; like my Deda Trentacinque road bar, just flared a bit.

I just ordered a pair of Hope RS4+ disc calipers to replace my SRAM Force units. I’m hoping the Hope 4-pot calipers will give more powerful braking when operating the levers from the hoods. That, and I got them in purple which should look tres sick on the bike!

EDIT: Dang, The-LBS.com did not have accurate online inventory status, so my order was canceled. I’d spoken to Hope USA prior to ordering, and know they don’t have the calipers and won’t for awhile, so my dreams are dashed on the rocks for now.

I ordered a set of Roval Terra C wheels today + a set of WTB 44mm Raddler tires for my 2021 Salsa Warbird 600, to replace the stock "boat anchor" WTB i23 rims + Teravail Cannonball 700c x 42 mm it came with. They'll be up for sale shortly!

I got a GRX 165 mm crankset, mainly to avoid pedal strikes. I hope I will still be able to climb hills.

Just bought a Sunrace 11-50 for my Rove ST. Been using a Sunrace 11-46 the last 2 years, but man, it's steep here, and I'm old....

A tiny Ass-saver mini front mudguard. Only a few inches long but saves my headet bearings and possibly prevents mud being sprayed on my face too! Really neat fixing with integral rubber-backed little velcro straps. Happy days!

I ride mostly crappy asphalt streets, so I was going to replace my stock Bontrager GR1's ( tubed ) with the Pirelli Gravel H. But went with the Bontrager GR 2's ( tubeless ). Today was the first time I took my Trek Checkpoint SL 6 in any serious dirt situation and the GR2's were good. They seemed to roll as well as the GR1's. How do you like the Pirelli's.

Took on mother-in-law's cat who like's to eat the sisal rope. Which she doesn't digest well. Cheaper to break out the duct tape than to source new cat trees without sisal rope. Think I should get some of that fancy designer patterned duct tape to class it up?
