My initial Winter Project, converting the second Davidson (a custom sport tourer signature model) into an Eroica compliant warrior for My Friend Gary, is pretty much done except for one or two very minor details.
But then got attracted to a lilac Bobby J across the hall, so that will take up some time…

My primary projects are to button up the builds on 2 new-to-me framesets. Primary? First celeste Bianchi and with Formula One tubeset; Rickert is the oldest lightweight I have ever owned (but unridden). I changed both builds and then procrastinated. But new rides are compelling.
The crankset rings on this will be 46/30 (VeloOrange). I want an off-road hill climber and light tourer over an ‘all original component’ collectible. (46/30 in da parts bin.)
This one has had more than one revision. Going with dual pivot Centaurs, long cage Mirage 9, but with downtube friction and 7sp freewheel, unless a free hub wheelset materializes. Weinmann delta brakes are pictured, but we’re too problematic for me to install.

A lower priority project will be to refurb this large, low end Carlton. If I ever get old and retire, to flatlandia…. well…. an old man needs a big heavy stable bike to ride a straight line.

So I am attempting to reenvision a purpose for it. The condorino bars will be the newest attempt to make it pleasurably rideable for me. If I get a round tuit. 
edit for clarification: the Legnano branded condorino bars are a stem/bar/levers single (welded) component. You either like them or you don’t, as the only adjustment is the stem insertion depth.

Repair effected!
I suppose the winter project is finding a framebuilder with TIG welding capabilities to repair the crack where the top tube and head tube meet on my newly-acquired Ritchey Break Away. 
I consulted with gugie on the matter, who suggested possibly Breadwinner in Portland. I contacted Dave Levy at TiCycles, who quoted $500, which included replacing the head tube, and a date of July 2022. I've also sent an email out to Keith Lippy here in Salem, who is technically retired from framebuilding, but has apparently done repairs for others in the area recently. I haven't heard back from him yet.

The crack was hard to see, but it's on the very edge of the weld. After Johnny left I used a file to carefully remove more material. On a repair like this it's important to "get to the bottom of it". My plan was to carefully undercut the weld so I could get full penetration using a fillet braze. A hacksaw blade and a small riffler file were employed to remove a bit more of the weld around the crack, with intermittent checks using a 10X jeweler's loop - after a bit it was the only way I could see it. After a few iterations of filing, sanding, and checking the crack started becoming shorter. Eventually it disappeared before I got all the way through the weld. I took the rest of the day off, the next morning I checked again with fresh eyes - no more crack! At this point I felt confident that I could effect a good repair.
After defluxing, filing and sanding, viola:

I expect to do a bit of gravel riding with John this season.

Finished the Motobecane about a week or so ago. Rode it last week for about 23 miles and I really like it. I posted a thread about it but just in case here it is.
