Kinda cool ride, but I seriously can't stop laughing at the "Atlas" rear derailleur, much less the asking price of $2000

Saw this one on the Phoenix C/L:

Now this one is a grocery getter!!!

"Combine a derelict shopping cart with a bicycle for a ride with ample cargo capacity. This is a nice way to save a shopping cart and a bike that might otherwise end up in a landfill. It is quite the head turner. GT Aggressor Comp

Off-road friendly and light-weight, it’s perfect for everyday recreational use."

That exact picture was on "thereIfixedit.com" nine years ago. Or more, but nine years ago is when I snagged it from that site.

Don't bother looking for it, the site is now defunct.

I'll bet that stops as well as a cargo ship, with a rear brake only and an extra 50 pounds of steel. I also saw that the ad copy said 4 caster wheels, which means this might turn a well as a cargo ship too, if at all.

Actually, I think that was a great deal. Picture PB Bikes getting a hold of those parts, and reselling $100 each piece! I would have bought myself, but they are sold. Rounding up some of these parts can be a PITA, and often, they are very rusty.

Actually, let's not. Barry clearly has a business model which works for him. I recall him saying (several years ago, so it might well no longer be true) that much of his stuff goes to Japan where the buyers are much more high-end/collector-oriented in their tastes and are more willing to open their wallets. Looking at his current offerings it seems his inventory isn't as esoteric as it once was. I assume he buys out inventory from closed shops, organizes it, then puts it up on eBay, piece by piece. At the moment he has more than 4500 active listings. That's a metric **** ton of storage space, photography and listing activity (even with bulk listings tools). You are not obligated to buy anything if you don't want. Would you rather it be sold for scrap, shipped to China to be melted down, then reconstituted as cheap lawn chairs sold on Alibaba?

^^^^ In my opinion the whole "luggage material" slot on FB marketplace ads makes them all at least a bit wacky. I blame FB for that, and only partly blame the sellers for not being able to distinguish (cheap) aluminum from (cheap) steel.

Honestly, I'm surprised their is a left crankarm/left side to the handlebars. Surely looks like a wall-hanging ornament for a nostalgia-themed restaurant, no?
