Cyclocross and Gravelbiking (Recreational) This has to be the most physically intense sport ever invented. It's high speed bicycle racing on a short off road course or riding the off pavement rides on gravel like : "Unbound Gravel". Do you have a link to the event? I used to live in NJ, so i'm curious about what roads they are. Didn't know there was gravel down there.

you can make it complicated or just 'adapt'
if you have a bunch of road bikes or more than 1 wheelset...
swap tires for some 'cross' tires - 32mm would be fine for most 'gravel' in that area, no real steep, knarly stuff around there (as I remember)
or
get another wheel set , shimano cheaper wheels are quite nice, and tires to match...
I'd be very surprised if most riders couldn;t make it thru that area with a mid to higher 30s inch gear... 34x28 with 32mm tire = 33 gear in.

i used 32 's last year and had zero issues all types of bikes used....but 32 's were fine....some spots were deep sandy and many folks just biffed....one decent was cazy long fast loose....the beginners just bought it.....bam!

Hey, if you were to make a recommendation of tire size (or recommended range) for this event, what would it be? I have a variety from 32 - 43 to choose from.

Oof, it was a hot and humid one today!
I was at the 3rd aid station, so hopefully was able to help some of you come through. We had a great time chatting with and helping out the riders today.

Too bad it was so hot. It was so pleasant before and has been since.

I have to say I’m a bit disappointed the results aren’t back yet.
