I think it’s meant to just fit on there without glue, but you could put some electrical tape around it. Or maybe a few dabs of rubber cement.

Damage on the chain stay is from chain suck, not chain drop, as in the chain dropping off the small chain ring.

I usually cut a length of old inner tube, and glue it with Uhu to the stay?

Chainstay wrapped with fiberglass, and also includes daggerboard to slash weeds and vegetation.

You can wrap the chainstay in fiberglass.
