Bibs for the real rides though. Pearl Izumi Pro is my preference (someday will break down and buy Rapha... but not today).
Most of my riding is utility riding so it's nice to have normal looking knickers/Capris to run around in.

Bibs eliminate plumbers butt, if your body is that shape (mine is).

Ha, I'd gladly take 50 of your extra pounds, if I could. Being thin in the winter time sucks. 😭😉

Done and done. Then if we stood together we'd look like two reasonably fit, albeit larger than average, human beings instead of looking like an impersonation of the number "10."

And I'd still wear bibs.

I find bib shorts to be much more comfortable than regular cycling shorts that have the elastic waistband. Elastic waistbands are often too tight on me, and they give me stomach aches. I usually ride in street clothes, and I loosen my belt one notch when I get on the bike. I'm thin and don't have a bulging waist, so you would think a waistband would suit me best.

When my spouse first saw me in my bibs, she burst out laughing, saying I looked like an early 20th century weight lifter.

What would be productive for those giving an opinion would be, what are your top 2-3 brands to recommend? I find that worthwhile as my last purchase was Ibex 5 years ago. I do not believe the Ibex reboot includes shorts nor bibs.
I am always looking for buys and deals, but for shorts I have pretty much settled on Voler for fit/quality/price sweet spot and am going more high end in their line

I did get a pair of assos on sail and they are pretty nice though

Aerotech were ok, bought for crazy colors, but work fast and did not fit as well

I haven't tried it on shorts having switched to bibs almost right away in my lycra life. However, I do have some cycling wind pants that don't stay up worn over slippery lycra bibs. So I just use some clip on suspenders. They work fine.

Woohoo, it's working!!! I've gained 6 pounds, in about a month. 😁 It probably comes & goes, without my really noticing, but I've been doing a few doctor's office type things, so couldn't help noticing, lately, especially after this thread. 😉

Nothing serious, BTW, just got some x-rays done of my bad knee.
