23s? Is it on a mountain bike?

I attacked whenever I could, I like showing up on the slow days because im not fast enough to win on the actual race days (tuesday and thursday.) Im shameless. Honestly though even if other people aren't contesting it a win is a win and a drop is a drop.

So, basically, you're racing when everyone else is doing a recovery ride? And, you almost won?

Just put some Vittoria corsas on your bike and then you can say you're following the directions and not over-inflating,.

Do the math when you put that big load on the small tire patch at that pressure. You keep glossing over the 300 lbs.

I have profound hearing loss in both ears, wear hearing aids and understand the importance of protecting what hearing function is left. I avoid further damage to my ears when inflating tires by correctly mounting them and using proper inflation.

Literally everything you've posted here proves otherwise.

Assuming, somehow you're serious about riding a bike that's totally overloaded, at a rating above the tires safe limit, have you considered offloading the groceries onto a trailer? That'll knock 40lbs of your poor bike.

Is this the bike from the other thread that's about 4 sizes too small?

Anyway, I love Larry threads, though the formula is somewhat predictable.

Larry: I'm doing something totally dangerous and stupid, here's a tangential question.
Everyone: What? No, don't do that at all.
Larry: I know what I'm doing, I'm the best.

Then there's 8 pages of arguing, with a few interesting points thrown in.

Larry sees through Big Gravel's lies and doesn't abide disc brakes on road bikes. Larry also rides bikes that others have seen fit to discard. I'm guessing that Larry's rims don't have that factory fresh safety margin.

The issue is you're claiming that you're able to do something only because of your skinny high pressure tires. On its face, that's an illogical claim unless you tried to accomplish the same thing on fatter lower pressure tires, but when we dig further, we can't even tell what it is you think you accomplished. The "almost won" a casually placed recovery ride is a really weird concept.

Didn't he post a thread about riding on a wheel that was so bent other people were complaining about it and telling him to stay away from them?

I believe he did. But it's okay - just open the calipers a little and it's all good.

Until it's not. I'd tell you to get the hell away from me if I saw you were riding on a wheel like that. You're just testing how far gone until complete failure mode.

Lets agree to disagree on that, but from this thread it seems like im not the only person who has considered wearing earplugs when inflating tires so im not that crazy for doing so

My favorite part is how he thinks every random person going the same direction he is, is someone to "race".

I never said the earplugs were crazy, but starting a thread about it is as is your failure to note that you seem to be having a lot of wheel/tire problems for someone who is doing "just fine".

Bro…imagine how far off the front you could ride with trued rims and tires with less rolling resistance! You could go tubeless. Even makeshift/DIY tubeless…does it really matter if it’s actually safe? Apparently not, based on this thread. No more pinch flats! Save the weight of carrying a replacement tube and all those pesky patch kits, tire tools and inflators and what not.

Embrace the science. Visualize the glory!

I wonder if there is an E-bike version of Big Gravel? I just can't come up with a catchy name for it.... "Big E-bike" sounds too forced.

His repair kit is already exceptionally light. It consists of: the expectation that others will bail him out.

This bike is trued up and race worthy. I don't have room in my saddlebag (stole it from the tiny bike) for tools, I keep a bubbler, bag of weed, and a lighter. Might be able to fit a patch kit if I get a smaller bubbler but I don't like having to jam stuff in the bag. In the event of a flat atleast I have something to smoke on/offer to a helpful stranger in return for a tube.
