I had a steel fork and used only one arm which was a Grin (ebikesca) Type 4 I got from Amazon. Theirs uses two hose clamps to secure the arm since AIR they stated that they experienced failure with one clamp.Sometimes it's difficult to mount two arms since the plug on the wire from the motor may have a connector that inhibits the part that goes on the axle. I would try to use two however you need to do it.
I am very happy with controller and the KT-lcd8H, lot of options and the bike drives smooth.

I was able to fit torque arms on bouth sides of the fork, I took the bike for a ride today and everything seems to be working fine. If i decided to do another build I will definitely look into steel forks.

The Bay,...
The Smith Point Bridge is a steel bascule drawbridge in Shirley, New York that connects Long Island to Fire Island. Located on the south shore of central Suffolk County, the bridge carries William Floyd Parkway (Suffolk CR 46) across The Narrows between Bellport Bay (an arm of the Great South Bay) and Moriches Bay. It connects Long Island with Smith Point County Park and the Otis Pike Fire Island High Dune Wilderness, both are a part of the Fire Island National Seashore.

I bought this Huffy Oslo new on ebay for under $400 shipped from Huffy. It needed some improvements that you can't see, like a new display, throttle, and better controller. Also was too slow for pedaling, so I installed a 52T chain gear and a 11-28 DNP freewheel. Better saddle too. Now it's pretty nice for a cheap ebike, about $550 in it.
Got a 25 mile range, I think. 36V 7AH battery.

An update to my low cost DIY cruiser. This started as a $149 Walmart Hyper, 26" with rim brakes.
I bought a used Bafang front motor for $55. It came with a wheel, tries, rotor, and calipers, I put it on the front fork, and eventually fabricated a bracket to use the disk brake. For the rear, I bought an ebay adapter and made that work with a hydraulic disk brake ($50 but included frnt and rear hardware). SO I got excellent brakes now, I had two of these motors, and the came with nice Schwalbe tires which are on this bike.
I like KT electronics, so am using their 20A controller with a cheap LCD1 display, The latter will be changed out for a color LDC7 soon. The battery is a 48V10AH UPP Hailong that cost me $250. It's got a range of over 40 miles, and will go past 20 mph, but I spent much time there.
The rear rack was replaced with a piece of stained Oak. I plan to cut out two more pieces of wood to make a flat wooden "tank". I'm not going to make it wide enough for a custom battery, but I could.
It's fun to look at and a relaxed comfy ride. The only bug is the front fender resonates and makes too much noise for cruising at 10-12 mph,

What, you want to come over and ride it? No way,
But there are ebike pics in this thread taken over the years. You can go all the way back to when ebikes had wooden wheels. Here are the later entries.

Question: what size chainring is up front? I already know the rear freewheel is a 14t-28t.😁

I do thanks.
The base started as a Riese and Müller Supercharger2 Rohloff HS Nyon and I upgraded the fork to a Fox Factory E-36 fork with 140mm travel a Nitto NJS stem with Koga Denham bars and Ergon and ESI grips. I also upgraded the rear light to the Supercharger M99 TL2 Pro and the cranks to RaceFace Affect with Crank Brothers Stamp 7 pedals. There are a few other upgrades and modifications but nothing major. It is an absolute blast to ride. I really should get some good pictures of it.

Addmotor P-430 fatty ebike. 750w motor, 7 spd, 5 mode pedal assist, front shock and 4" wide tires.
My neighbor owns an ebike rental and sales business. So, I finally decided to stop by the shop for an eductional chat, but instead he told me I just had to ride some. I had thought I wanted a narrower tire bike, so if I ran out of power, I could still ride it. But, after several test rides, I decided on this one. Love it. Definitely helps on the hills and grades here in the Colorado rockies! It's nice to take an evening summer ride after the peaks shade the valley.

Decathlon E-ST100
Here is my Decathlon E-ST100. This is a fairly straightforward electric bike that I used to commute through hilly Naples, Italy -- until we returned this summer.
Naples is far from flat, and I was looking to incorporate exercise into my daily routine, get to know the city better, and avoid the daily traffic crush that characterizes the city -- and not show up at work with a big sweat.

Electra Townie ..1000 watt hub motor
... I have a disability "old" and cannot stand or walk for much more than 15 minutes ... I can however cruise on this for hours .. It has a cruise control button I set for 7-8 mph and add petal power to help and for exercise .. Uphill of against the wind ..no problem ..kind of a hobby maintaining and upgrading this thing ..
