Addiction 2022.3

Notices
Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

They are in their 80s. When I’m that old, I’ll be flipping off the world as well.

I bonked super hard. Crawled to a gas station and ate a bunch of random garbage. Wanted to do another 20 miles but my crawl to the gas station took so long I didn’t have time.

Oh, I don't think they're flipping the world off, though certainly I'd say Mrs. Old Neighbor would. Pretty sure it's just forgetfulness, because sometimes the garage door is open for hours, or late into the night.

I began that process a couple weeks ago, at 70. A conscious decision.

Live and learn. Or not. I had a close call recently. I knew almost as soon as I left the last pitstop. I made it as far as I needed to make it. But not a pedal stroke more.
There is still time for you, Grasshopper.

Y'all eat too much - work on efficiency and fat adaptation.

My last ride (87 miles), I had a bowl of steel cut oats before leaving home, a granola bar ~25 miles in and a pack of Hostess Cupcakes at a gas station at about 50 miles.

Of course, the last ~25 miles were powered by crash-fueled adrenaline, but pay no attention to that part.

My current distribution (197 games played)...
1/6 = 0
2/6 = 12
3/6 = 62
4/6 = 73
5/6 = 29
6/6 = 20
X/6 = 1

My 3 and 4 were close for a while.
