Okay, there was maybe a bit more than needed artistic exaggeration in that (plus I see now I wrote 3x, not 2x.. meh..), I saw so many bike ads in the past days, that the "extremely lightweight for the time 14,6KG" stuck in my head.... but maybe that was some fendered one.
21 pounds is close to a modern upper-mid roadie...

At least you have a Molteni Merckx until you get there, which is a really cool thing to have.
Thanks, Lattz!

Yeah, I want a Speciallisima Super Corsa of 1970's with panto parts or modern steel.
A modern steel will be built with Dura Ace 7700.
But Molteni Merckx, Master X-light, C59 took all my budget and no more space for another bike!
I believe you know Japan's ordinary houses are once called "rabbit hutch".
I'm living a place like that!

Hmmm, Gimondi's greatest rival

Oh I get it but you're on the right track here and while none of your other bikes are slouches, I would make room for a true C+V Bianchi but it would be a tough call to be sure.

..oh yeah, there's one on Catawiki qualifying for a good starter

They say "Conservata" but I'm not sure about the fork color.... and no one would be I guess...

And yeah, money and space issues (well, the first could solve the second) are kind of "hard stops" if one dreams big, but we should never give up dreams, no matter how big they are.

Bingo, full engraved group, good shape, plenty of chrome by Bianchi standards.

What's the ask, current bid, my translator is out of the office ATMO.

It's EUR 1001,- but it's only 54cm...
As said, I don't like that they claim (also in the text) that everything original, and then the fork looks like that...
It is also interesting, that only one bidder is pushing the price up, I guess must be the seller or another collector who wants to send a message to others, that he wants this.
They also point out in the text that these usually cost 4500, and go up by 400-500 every year, which is BS if you ask me... but hey, it's democracy

Im making up this colour celeste

In pulling my forks out of the 1980 748 Rekord I have, I saw the celeste green was pretty perfect, not seeing uv light for 45 years!!!!
So I am matching the colour and repainting a bike i have.

If you have a Celeste green bike and trying to figure out what colour works......damn .... this is as close as it gets IMHO.
Its way better than the touch up paint I got for my Specialissima Giro on ebay online.

Maybe I should make 1000 touch up 1OZ sizes. hmmmmmm.

The Sample I ordered (Square) is off slightly. And given that the forks have never seen light in 45 years, Im going to make my own sample

There is no 1 classic celeste, 10 to the 100th or 1000th power maybe, UV rays, paint batch, temp, humidity, equipment, technique, blah, blah, blah.

And a million other factors, Bianchi celeste literally translates to fools errand in Latin.

Whether that's good or bad depends on your plans. If you're trying to match a color for touch-up, yeah it's hopeless. But of you're going for a full respray or powder coat, you can obsess for whatever length of time you're comfortable with, arbitrarily pick a shade and come away satisfied that it's truly celeste (unless you were really far off).

Celeste

I have a few Bianchis in my garage. 3 perfect ones.
This 1980 748 rekord Im repainting....well, I dont want to fight with what celeste is the real celeste or whatever.

All I can say...is that this set of 1980 rekord forks are painted in the real factory 1980 colour and its perfect, untouched and a mint example of what 1980 Celeste green is.
And the paint shop has made up a damn perfect match.

So, argue with me or not.....this is as close to 1980 celeste as you can get.

I suppose the factory is calling this celeste now.
But this is 100 shades off the early colour.

Since there are so many pantones as types of paint for "celeste green" I paid the extra to have paint guys mix and match the naked top.of my forks.
